Constant relapses and close calls with death had our family so disheartened as to wondering if our daughter would ever recover. Until we found 1st Step. Lush surroundings enfold a beautiful, fully furnished apartment style setting, with multiple indoor and outdoor meeting areas for community members.
Here at 1st Step, our clients reside in a fully furnished apartment setting. Multiple outdoor seating areas allow for socialization with community members as well as quiet reflection in our tranquil South Florida surroundings. They create meal plans and shopping lists with roommates to facilitate the enhancement of our client's life skills as well as creating a family atmosphere.

This facility is one of many I’ve been to over the years. Most places look at you as a dollar sign but with this place that’s not the case at all. They care about each and every individual in this program. They help you even on your worst day when you don’t want the help. Between the clinical staff and the 1st step community as a whole my entire life has changed for the better. I was a lost cause. I couldn’t get a day. I was hopeless and helpless. That was before I found first step. First step taught me how to live one day at a time without the use of drugs. Not to project or set expectations on myself or others and do the next right thing. A very clean facility with the most caring and trustworthy staff I had ever come across. First step has proven over and over again since I have been home to have seriously saved my life. I will be forever grateful for first step!

The therapy I received at First Step was life changing. I never knew that people actually cared the way that the staff at First Step has. Through treatment here I learned to overcome many fears and previous heartbreaks that had held me captive for so long. I learned how to develop genuine relationships with others and with myself. I’m currently in First Steps Sober Living and involved with the Alumni department (which is also awesome) where I participate in group activities, continuing the relationships and friendships I’ve developed here. Unlike any other treatment center I've dealt with. The staff really cares and their program is unlike others. The owner actually involves himself with the clients and works with addicts and alcoholics first hand by conducting groups at their Detox and Clinical building. He's very involved with the program and can tell he really cares about helping others. Everything they do is for a reason. I made a lot of friends from this program. I've got 5 mos so far! Take it one day at a time! Thanks 1st Step!

I am from Texas and was unsure of coming to Florida for treatment as this was my first treatment. Since being here I’ve grown so much in my mental health and addiction. Their slogan “We care when you can’t” definitely describes most everyone at this facility. Most amazing, the owner isn’t one there for the money that you never see. He is very active in the community and teaches classes throughout the week. I highly recommend this program for anyone needing help with mental wellness and/or addiction.

I can't say enough good things about First Step. The facilities are first rate. The clinicians are knowledgeable and take the time to get know you as a person. The entire staff, from the maintenance people all the way up to Gus, the owner, provide patients with care, support and encouragement. FIRST STEP CARES!
