Sometimes as we age, we allow the stream of life to just carry us along without purpose. We may forget that we are the captain of the ship and there are many destinations yet to be enjoyed. At this point, those 'destinations' may no longer physical locations but 'satisfaction destinations.'

More and more families are providing care for an older family member at home for a time, sometimes for financial reasons, sometimes out of a sense of love or even duty. Whatever the reason, it's a tough job that generally grows beyond what was ever envisioned. For families who must still be in the workforce outside the home, this is an especially difficult situation, essentially turning into a second fulltime job.

I had a aunt that lived there. Becky and Shelly were a rockstar team in the Elm area. I only give 2 stars because my aunt wasn't showered or offered a shower on her shower nights. Becky & Shelly did it during the day and the facility didnt know we had a camera in her room. Becky and Shelly were professional and the other aides talked about eachother and didnt pay attention to her needs. I would look around because cares were not being done unless Becky and Sheely were working.

Terrible place to work at. Management is awful, they’re very hard to talk to and to work with. They favorite new hires, work them to death then complain when workers request days off because of being over worked. The scheduler is super overwhelming. She guilt trips you into picking up shifts and cries about everything and anything if you can’t. She always messes with your schedule, never getting it right- and if you call-in she gives you a attitude for doing so, even if it’s a serious issue. She is trouble. Strictly unorganized place, the food is distasteful, and they’re always short on

Care is good, place is clean and staff is very friendly. Almost always someone around to help, responsive and supportive. Only issue is the food is sub-par, has been for the six months my parents have been there. Not the healthiest, not the tastiest and very unappealing to the eye as well. It is a bit sad as that’s the one thing many of the residents have to look forward to...a good meal while they have a chance to socialize with others. I think the Shores could do better.

Management needs some improvement. There is no one to greet families nor do the employees greet anyone when passing each other. They constantly have new faces around which is probably because of management. It would be great to see the same people and it would be great if they could improve their management team. Great facility to live in but I’m not sure about the employees or management. One last thing, dining employees has great service even though they lack some skills.
