The Columbia Heights Preschool is a ministry of Columbia Heights United Methodist Church. The Preschool delights in diversity and welcomes families of all faiths, creeds, ethnic origins as well as ability levels. The programs of the Preschool all stem from a common desire for excellence in meeting the needs of children and their families for nurture, growth, development, relationship and understanding.

Both the Church school and the Preschool are directed toward growth as a member of the larger community of humankind; however, the Preschool does not contain instruction specific to any one specific faith. The home is the most important factor in a child's development; we will always strive to support and compliment the home in order to promote the healthy development of both children and parents.
Services
At Columbia Heights Preschool, we believe that healthy food is the one of the keys to good health in children. Although state law now prohibits us from providing food during preschool, we do have some recommendations to help keep your child healthy and happy. Our promise is to provide opportunities of a minimum of 15 minutes daily exercise for children to develop healthy physical activity habits.
Columbia Heights Preschool is very pleased to announce that our preschool's status has recently been enhanced to a "Step Up To Quality Five-Star Rated Program"! High quality learning and development program settings are important because early experiences last a lifetime. Your child has 1,892 days from the day they are born until they enter kindergarten.
We're very pleased with the education our daughter has received at Columbia Heights! The thematic units are very diverse ranging from family to environmental awareness. The teachers focus instruction on the whole child, taking into consideration the social and emotional aspects of learning. The teachers are fantastic.
Supply Fee and September payment are due at the Parent Orientation meeting during the summer. A late fee of $5.00 will be assessed after the 15th of each month. In cases of extended illness a tuition fee waiver may be considered upon receipt of a written statement from your physician. There are no discounts for days absent, calamity days or scheduled days off.
The Early Childhood Education Grant provides high-quality preschool services to eligible children in order to prepare children for success in kindergarten. The state-funded grant is awarded to preschool programs who are required to provide comprehensive services that support a child's growth and learning using developmentally appropriate practices.

This preschool is great! It no doubt made a positive impact on my daughter's education. She is one of the best students in her elementary school now. The team at Columbia Heights Preschool cares about children. I highly recommend this preschool!

Great teachers, well-run, my son learned a lot, loved attending, and was well-cared-for. Thanks so much!
