Hill & Hovis
Our law offices are located across the street from the Courthouse in High Point, North Carolina, which gives our attorneys, as well as our clients, quick and convenient access to the Courts. Our attorneys, R. Tony Hill, a High Point native, and Richard D. Hovis, a lifelong North Carolina resident, are trial attorneys with over 60 years combined experience.

Hill & Hovis believe it is our obligation to our clients to interact with them on a personal basis and work diligently to resolve their legal problems in a competent and thorough manner. As a result, unlike other law firms that spend large sums of money advertising, Hill & Hovis have found that their past and present clients are their best advertisement.
Services
When someone is injured by the negligence of others, North Carolina law provides for the injured person to recover money damages from the negligent party. These damages include money for medical expenses, loss of income, travel expenses, money for disfigurement, permanent injury, and pain and suffering.
Throughout our state, we note more and more tractor trailers traveling on our roadways delivering goods and transporting merchandise to various locations. Unfortunately, these rigs weigh thousands of pounds in excess of what the typical car weighs and when an accident occurs, it more often than not, can result in one sustaining debilitating and permanent injuries, such as traumatic brain injuries, paralysis, and/or death.
When someone dies as a result of the negligence or wrongful act of another, the law in North Carolina allows the relatives to make a claim against that person or company based upon our wrongful death statute.

Our law recognizes the value of human life by allowing the deceased relatives to recover money damages for medical expenses, funeral and burial expenses, lost income of the deceased, pain and suffering, the loss of companionship, protection, services, care, assistance, companionship, comfort, guidance, kindly offices and advice of the deceased.
Section 97 of the North Carolina General Statutes sets forth in detail the rights of workers who have been injured or who have died during the course and scope of their employment. We, at Hill & Hovis, are knowledgeable of these laws and will assist you in receiving just and fair compensation.

These laws are constantly changing and we concentrate our efforts to stay updated as to how the laws are interpreted by our Courts as well as new laws passed by our legislature. An injured employee, as well as his/her dependents, may be entitled to recover such things as temporary or partial total disability payments (weekly checks), payment of medical and travel expenses, and compensation for permanent injuries or death.
When someone is and/or becomes disabled, they apply for Social Security Disability Benefits and often times their application is turned down unjustly by the Social Security Administration for benefits. In many cases, those turned down have worked many years prior to their disability, during which time, their employer, pursuant to Federal Law, deducted a portion of their paycheck that went towards Social Security.

We were represented by Mr. Hill back in 2011. Mr. Hill and his assistant were amazing and understanding! They both helped us every step of the way, from hospital bills to car rental to giving us guidance in receiving post-accident medical treatment for our injuries. He settled our cases fairly and in a timely manner, keeping us informed and updated every step of the way! 100% would recommend and have recommended Mr. Hill for anyone I've known who dealt with car accidents since!

The only reason I give one star is because a.) I have to and b.) He had an amazing assistant. Mr. Hovis was not only rude in not wanting to take our case in which he refused to even see us in person but also was unbelievably rude to a not only physically disabled but also mentally disabled person. I completely recommend against getting this attorney unless you enjoy being talked to as if you are nothing but someone that's supposed to lick his shoes.

I just left a consultation to figure out how much it would cost to be represented by Hovis. He assumed that I couldn't or wouldn't pay him. He never even gave me and price before he told me he couldn't take my case because I wouldn't pay him

Mr Hill is a great attorney. He's a real straight shooter and if he thinks he can win he'll tell you so, if not he won't string you along. He took on a case for me that several lawyers had told me, that I'd lose and to simply plead guilty. Mr. Hill listened to my case and then went to work on it right away and even pulled in help from associates of his and won my case of which I had around a 5% chance of winning. He will most definitely be my lawyer from now on and I'd recommend him to anyone else.
