Took my truck in for front axle replacement and it took longer than expected for the parts. When I picked up my truck the mechanic was rude and chastized me impling that I damaged my truck on purpose as I wrote a check for a large amount of money that was mostly for labor. I was grateful that they took my truck and Sam was very nice and professional. I can't judge the quality of work at this time. As reported by Dave Duncan

I can’t believe this place has any positive reviews. It took them six weeks to fix my car, in part because for a week they just didn’t bother ordering any parts, and then it took ages to get the rest. They were intentionally not going to fix the cracked bumper so they could “get it back to me faster” even though it had already been over a month of waiting on other parts, so I still don’t understand why they didn’t just order that along with the other things in the first place. I give Auto Masters the highest accolades....5 stars! My son and I limped into Cortez in our old 1970 Ford pickup that was running so bad it died outside the city. Another mechanic shop could not help and recommended AMC. Tom and crew dropped what they were doing and jumped right in to figure out the problems; a bad carb vacuum line and electrical interference with the coil. In an hour we were back on the road. Fantastic customer service and expertise. Thank you AMC and team!

Car broke down outside of Cortez, had my car towed here for a diagnostic. When I went to pick it up 2 days later my car was damaged! The front end of my car had cracks and scratches that were not there when we dropped it off, and a whole vent was missing! The owner was very rude about it and claimed it came to them like that. I confirmed with the tow drive who dropped it off that none of the damage was there when we left it with them. Had to call the police and file a report. Terrible experience. This garage is shady. Do not go here.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon when our car broke down in Utah near the four corners with a cracked radiator. It was the Fourth of July weekend and we called auto shops around and received plenty of discouraging responses. Sam answered the phone at Auto Masters and was very kind and helpful. She located the part while on the line with me, and she squeezed us in the following Monday so we could continue our trip as soon as possible.
We took the car in on Monday, and one of their mechanics was out with food poisoning, so the owner stayed just to help us get our radiator replaced on time.

Out of town travelers with camper having emergency brake issues. After bad experiences with both Chevy and Ford dealerships nearby, stopped in here. Phenomenal group of people. We're able to work us in and get us taken care of. While sitting in the shop, we saw numerous people, including local first responders, bringing in their vehicles, all with positive things to say and very family like interactions. Typically take work trucks to Auto Masters, but my personal vehicle has been needing some significant repairs. Sam, Dave and all the employees are top notch professionals. The care, quality and detail they put into their work can't be beat. If you need anything from an oil change to a power steering pump replaced, you can't go wrong with Auto Masters. Auto Masters was able to diagnose and replace the bearing and clutch in my vehicle at a fair price. And everyone is so incredibly friendly. Bottom line: we were 100% satisfied with our experience there. We couldn't ask for more than that. We were on our way back to Paonia after 6 months on the road in a 1996 Ford Tioga RV when, checking the tires before heading into the mountains, I noticed the drip drip of radiator fluid. We weren't familiar with Cortez but Travis at Big O Tires recommended Auto Masters. It had great reviews on Yelp so we went there. Debbie at the desk was just finishing setting up an older couple who seemed to be happy return customers. We explained our situation, including that we needed to get to Paonia

I was traveling through the area one Friday when my car started running poorly. I stopped in town to get it fixed. I called three other repair shops and all gave me the same story. They couldn't see me until after the weekend. David fit my car in even though they were busy and got me out the same day with the problem fixed. That is service!

I had the misfortune of needing a mechanic to look at my car far away from home but the fortune of trusting Yelp to help me find Auto Masters, who serviced it quickly and professionally. I was given a same-day appointment, was put at ease when I was running late, and really appreciated the professional service and attention (thanks Dave!) that got me on the road safely until I can get more major repairs done at home. We had Auto Masters repair our Volvo S80 radiator in 2012. They did a great job at a reasonable price.
Today we heard a screeching sound whenever our car was moving. We naturally took the car to Auto Masters. When they test drove it, the noise was gone. We were told that the issue was probably caused by a rock that fell out right before the test drive.
Auto Masters put the car on the lift to make sure, and confirmed that a rock had caused the issue, but had not caused further damage.
We were surprised when we were told "no charge".
We highly recommend Auto Masters!

Last week my daughter and I were driving through Cortez, trying to get home to Indiana in time for Christmas, and that evening we had car trouble. We came into Auto Masters first thing the next morning, and they immediately took a look at it for us. An unscrupulous mechanic could have taken us for thousands of dollars, but they checked things over and gave us the go-ahead to travel on over the Rockies before four days of snowy weather was due to set in the next day. We got home in time for Christmas, and we are so happy! And they didn't charge us anything for taking a look at it for us

After a long, stressful 15 hours on the road through the darkness wondering if we'd make it to Cortez (our 1/2 way home point between Texas and Oregon), we found this shop based on the reviews on Google, and we were not disappointed. We arrived right as they opened, and they got us right in to do the work needed to get us back on the road. We are from out of town, found ourselves 400 miles from home in an RV that didn't have power and was going 15mph uphill. Initially thought it was a transmission issue, went to "Jimmy's Transmission" shop in town, awesome guy there did some investigation and figured it wasn't transmission and sent us to Auto Masters.
