Serving students in the Ottawa, La Salle, and Peru areas, DIMA creates champions in taekwondo, hapkido, and in life. Students and enthusiasts of martial arts have many reasons for their interest. Some are drawn to the physical fitness and weight-loss aspects of training. Others seek to add discipline and self-control to their lives, while still others are concerned about safety and self defense.

Whatever your reason for being interested in martial arts, DIMA offers a number of programs that will fit your needs and your busy schedule. DIMA recognizes that all martial arts are important, so we strive to bring the best qualities of a range of styles to our instruction.
Services
Established in 2005, DIMA is dedicated to helping students grow physically and mentally. Our professional, certified black belt instructors are specially trained to bring out the best in every student. Not only do students have fun, get in great shape, and learn effective self-defense, but our specialized programs also help them develop the confidence, discipline, and self esteem necessary to succeed in anything they do.
The equipment and facilities (including classrooms, kicking targets, and other gear) should be clean, up-to-date, and in good working order. All masters and instructors should be certified and accredited in their martial art and have a proven record of teaching success. All instructors and students should have positive attitudes, showing respect to all, including other instructors and students.
Community is one of DIMA's core values, and we want to spread it around the world. In Fall 2018, Begin Anew, an organization that works to provide clean water, food, and education to villages in Uganda, reached out to Master Duque and asked him to spearhead a new initiative to establish martial arts schools for at-risk youth.
WT (World Taekwondo) Taekwondo is a Korean martial art that focuses on teaching both fighting skills and developing mental discipline. It differs from other martial arts in that it is characterized primarily by dynamic and active kicking techniques. The word "taekwondo" translates to "the art of kicking and punching."
Hapkido is a Korean martial art practiced globally. Characterized by joint locks, throws, and dynamic kicking techniques, it is unique among Korean martial arts: its emphasis is on deflecting an opponent's attacks instead of forceful blocking. Hapkido was designed as a way to defend against and overcome an attacker with skill in many forms of martial combat.
