Action Physical Therapy is a private, locally owned and operated comprehensive outpatient clinic with five locations. We have geared our practice toward orthopedic and sports injuries, post surgical rehab including therapy following joint replacement, hand therapy, industrial and work related injuries, vestibular rehab, and aquatic therapy.
We understand that you might be apprehensive about your first physical therapy appointment but as soon as you set foot in one of our clinics, you'll feel like you belong to APT. Our welcoming front office staff is happy to help you begin your path to recover and answer any insurance, scheduling, or billing questions along the way.
No. Oklahoma State law permits direct access to physical therapy for 30 days without a physician referral. However some insurance's, including Medicare, Soonercare and Worker's Compensation still require a prescription for therapy. It is a good rule of thumb to contact your insurance to see if they require a referral to pay for your treatments.
Katie has successfully owned and operated an outpatient physical therapy clinic since 2006, and since 2008 she has been fortunate enough to provide quality care to the people in the community where she was raised and has lived since 1979. Katie has a broad range of experience in outpatient orthopedics and has the privilege of overseeing the day to day operations across the five clinics.

Kristina was wonderful. I would recommend her to anyone needing a Physical Therapist. I have endured a lot of PT over the last decade, and her knowledge and compassion are absolutely amazing. The rest of the staff is friendly and always worked hard to assure I had what I needed from answering questions, dealing with my insurance, and working with my doctor.

I had reconstructive shoulder surgery on 9/2/2014 and was referred to this facility for my rehab. The therapist in this facility are fantastic. I will admit that initially I was not sure about their aggressive approach to therapy, but I am "all in" now because their goal is in direct alignment to my own. I want to use my arm and not just move it. So I willingly drive from Oklahoma City to Shawnee 3 times a week for treatment.
