My father is a master carpenter and accomplished wood sculptor, and my mother is a devoted gardener and librarian. From them, I developed a strong sense of aesthetic and form, and learned how attention to detail, texture and color can all come together to a create an emotion, a response and sense of balance that is to be sought after.
When that is accomplished, art is created. To me, that art can be a beautiful landscape, a perfectly placed boulder, a newly planted grove of trees, an outdoor space for a large gathering or an intimate space of quiet and seclusion. I have been blessed to work with many talented architects, designers and clients from Marin, Napa and Sonoma counties.

Outdoor lighting highlights boulders, trees, pathways, steps, entry ways, fountains and structures to allow you to use it after sunset. Color changing and dimmable fixtures can showcase seasonal change such as fall colors, highlight textures, or create a focal point. The lighting can create a vibrant or subdued mood and transform a space and make it match its intended use.
Outdoor rooms and spaces have and always will be the most important and personal part of a custom landscape. Whether it be a private space for reflection or to appreciate a view to a large space for family gatherings, the outdoors can provide areas to match the needs of our client's. Fire features, structures and outdoor kitchens can be some of the most used and enjoyable destinations on one's property.
The primary building blocks of outdoor structures, walls, benches, fences and art forms in the landscape. The warm tones of western red cedar, Alaskan yellow cedar and native redwood can provide striking contrast when mixed with Core10 steel and galvanized steel.

Plants, shrubs and trees are the only elements in the landscape that change and grow throughout the year. From spring foliage, to fragrant summer blossoms and fall colors the landscape is ever changing and growing. Watching the passage of the seasons in our gardens connects one to the passage and appreciation of time.
We rebuilt our Fountaingrove home after losing it in the 2017 Tubbs fire and needed to fully landscape our front and back yard. Owen and his company, Mitchell Landscapes, were highly recommended by the landscape design company we worked with. We obtained other bids, but ultimately selected Owen because of how personable, professional, and knowledgeable he was.

Absolutely love these guys. Polite, punctual, do a fantastic job. Clear up after each days work. I asked for a few extra jobs on top of what had been scheduled, they did without any fuss. The finish is superb. Would recommend them to anyone. Thank you so much xx

I recently had Wayne and his team do some work on my back garden which was nothing short of perfect. Wayne promptly came out and quoted for the work, making sure to cover every aspect and detail of what I wanted and even things I had not considered. I happily accepted the first quotation as I was already impressed from the first visit. The starting date for the job did get moved on but this was due to unforeseen issues on jobs they were already undertaking but I was given more than enough notice and if anything this shows a professional level of communication.
