Engineered wood, is real wood. It is a sandwich of 1/16" to 1/8" of finish wood on top and non-finish plywood underneath. So, what you see is 100% genuine wood. The middle layer of plywood is laid cross-ways to the finish layer, providing additional strength to the flooring. Giant waste of time! Avoid this place if you can! correspondence was with a woman named Vanessa. At first she seemed super helpful over the phone. I told her that our company would be purchasing a lot of doors, and she kept promising that they were the cheapest prices around. I gave her measurements for several different types of doors for a few of our properties and she sent me invoices back. I gave her the go-ahead to order the doors. However, Vanessa told me it was necessary to send her guy out to measure my door jams? After she sent out her guy, my quote for 8 standard 3 panel shaker doors

Extremely rude & hostile service by their sales clerk Mosen. He didn’t even want to quote us bc he kept saying their products are too expensive.
We were looking for custom kitchen cabinets for our rental home. So obviously, we want something durable but we’re not trying to spend an arm & a leg for a rental home. He spent more time telling us how expensive his products are than showing us products!
For example, we would ask “between these two cabinets, which one would cost less” & he would say “they’re both expensive!” Okay thanks for the phenomenal input sir

Vanessa at FMD was the BEST. She is a listener and recommends what I needed for my house. I went to different stores as I am going through major remodeling but once I met Vanessa, she was my go-to person for all remodeling needs. She was patient with me as this was my first time "picking out" the doors, casing, baseboard.. etc. She ensured that I had all things needed with correct measurements and of course, she was great with the follow-ups letting me know when the materials would be delivered.

Homer was excellent.....explained everything to us and gave us a lot of options to consider. He listened to what we wanted and then narrowed down the type of hardwood and availability. He then proceeded to find exactly what we wanted and kept us in the loop on a daily basis. We are very happy with our hardwood and highly recommend them and Homer.

Homer at FMD distributor was great to work with. He got me the exact hardwood flooring I wanted at a much better price than my local flooring store. Also, he was very attentive and responsive, and we got the flooring delivered quickly. I live in Santa Cruz, but it was definitely worth driving to San Jose to work with Homer at FMD.

Furthermore, I took his advice and replaced the sidings of my home with his recommendation of cedar wood unknotted and it has given our house such a beautiful curb appeal. Every day I get complements by people that walk I front of my house

Terrible customer service. Don't risk a major job with them. Was asked to bring a sample stair handrail to match for a section replacement. After driving an hour to get there with sample in hand, the salesman was unable to match to the narrow selection they had. When asked what wood species was the hand rail, the salesman didn't have a clue. Finally when asked to look for a match in their catalog for ordering, the salesman told me to "google it." FMD was recommended to me by my contractor, and picking out finishes such as doorknobs and molding can be overwhelming with so many choices. Shawn at FMD was very knowledgeable and so patient when I had to select doors, door knobs and hinges. He guided me through the process and within two weeks my interior doors were delivered. The doors are lovely. We had a small hiccup with the vendor sending the wrong the front door, but Shawn immediately reached out and mitigated the issue. I still have a few more

The customer service is very poor. I spent over 30K in flooring. They charge a premium when compared to other places with the promise of good customer service. But it ended up being all about them.
When time came for delivery they dragged their feet and caused the project to be delayed. The sales rep Homer said he had too much business and was tired of working 6days.
When I called them to check, they sounded inconvenienced. I am writing to warn others to save your money and get the same brands elsewhere. I like my Monarch flooring. Monarch owner promptly responded when I wrote on their website

Very poor customer service and super pricey. After spending nearly 40K with this shop I get no response to my email and no call back when I needed to order additional stair noses. So I ended up going to Precision flooring and realized that I got the same Mirage flooring 15% cheaper than my bulk order discount at FMD! Seriously don't waste your money here!
