I have never spoken to so many people that are so miserable with their own lives... They have zero personality, they are beyond rude and if you hate your job that much, get another one! Like, I get that this is a collection agency/debt collector/finance company, and I understand that a lot of the people they talk to may be rude and demanding and probably yell at them and cuss them out, but not everyone acts like that. Trying to get hold of a human here is nearly impossible. I paid off my car and was trying to get my title expedited to me and I would have paid for overnight. My son is going back to college in a week and I want to transfer the title to him before he goes. Kept getting kicked off the phone and the message told me to call back again, Finally got through and it was some foreign call center which had no clue what I was trying to ask for. Got frustrated and told her never mind. Do not use these guys. Trust me. Not customer service friendly.

Ally is an AWFUL bank. They do not help out with payment extensions etc. It appears they don't care about you or your financial well being at all. Been waiting for over a month for a payoff document from them that they said 5-7 business to get. And they are still demanding monthly payments. This is just a brief outline of the issues I'm having with this bank... DO NOT USE THEM

AWFUL! i have paid them faithfully for two years always on time and in full. My car was totaled in a hit and run accident. I have been waiting for almost 3 weeks for them to send the letter of guarantee to my insurance so they can pay me out for the car! Each time I call they claim that they are sending it that very moment and yet three weeks later I STILL DONT HAVE IT! And each time I call they give me a different story!

After being on hold for 45 minutes just to get my payoff amount someone finally picked up the phone said ueah I can run that number then hung up. Worst customer service ever! Even as I type this I'm still trying to reach them about getting my payoff amount. You would think they would love to take my money.

Do not get a loan through ALLY!!!! Worst company ever with piss poor customer service! Even with paperwork proof of payments, dates, etc. i was still marked down as late payments and then some of my payments they didnt even have record of at all......some of my payments were modified and not the correct amount i actually payd was recorded,. Ally forced my bank account to be closed due to fraudulent activities,....i was forced to open a new account elsewhere because they put my account $3k+ in the hole. taking payments then returning them and then trying to take out double the amount that they put

Never had any issues with Ally Auto. Vehicle financed in July 2017, paid off in May 2021. I had online and phone help on numerous occasions, and received my lien release quickly after my vehicle was paid off. I'm currently vehicle shopping again, and will ask for an Ally loan.

This company is the absolute worst company ever! My car was totaled and covered by the insurance company. The insurance company and I both have contacted them several times they still haven't cashed the insurance companies payment and have marked my account as past due and hit my credit. It has been almost 2 months and they still wont help. AVOID THIS COMPANY if possible!

I requested a tax statement from Ally on 11/23/2021. They said it would take 2 business days to receive it. I gave them 2 fax numbers to send it to and they also said it would be sent to my message center on the app. I waited the 2 days and still nothing. I called on the 26th to see what the status was and they told me they faxed it on 11/24/2021. Thought it took 2 business days? The tax department said they faxed it and was in my message center and it wasn't. So they said they would send it again within 45 minutes. 2 hours go by and I called again and they were closed for the weekend

I only gave a 1 rating because I was unable to give a zero rating. I am trying to pay off my vehicle and it is absurd that the online payment will not be accepted because my account number is too long. When I called I talked with a supervisor(who was condescending), they can do nothing and told me to pay another way. Mail a check in or use a different account. The same thing happened when I first purchased my vehicle and they advised to remove a number at the beginning of the account number which made the payment come back returned. So frustrated. All I wanted to do was pay it off today.

I paid off my loan with Ally because I was selling my car and thought it would be easier to sell with the title. BIG MISTAKE. I paid directly with my bank account ($26K) and the money was taken from my account immediately. 2 weeks have gone by and they still have not processed my title. They state that because of the way I paid, there is a 10 business day waiting period. How can they just take your money from your bank account and not process the title? It makes no sense. If I could give 0 stars I total would. I paid my car off in July 2021 and was told 18 days after my car was paid off I would receive a check of the extra money. It's been two months and they can't seem to tell me where the checks are. One was for the car loan since it was a 10 day pay off and the other was for cancelled GAP. I've been getting the runaround when I call. They've said they would overnight my check to me and I still haven't received it after they cancelled the original two checks they state they sent. Absolutely horrific company to work with for auto finance. I was told it would take 24-48 hours to get a lease buyout packet emailed to me and have been on the phone every day for more than a week to get it...still nothing.

No physical locations. They upcharge dealer buyout costs to the point where you are going to have to pony up the cash if you ever want to trade in or sell your vehicle.

If I could give zero stars and write a review, that would be great. I’ve never called Ally for anything but when I called to pay an outstanding balance, I was not treated like a customer. The reps were rude, no help, and they had no idea who the account belong too etc. although the collection agency I set payments up with is still collecting. Did I mention they had an attitude with me and hung up on me, while I was asking questions. Like everyone else has mention, this bank is fraudulent and you get no where with them, while they’re still reporting negative/wrong information on your report

This company over charges, double charges, and gives you a different story for everyone you speak with.. I’m kind of glad my car was totaled out so I don’t have to deal with them but I’m still being charged for some reason and I can’t get a straight answer. The banking system is cool but the auto financial system seems fraudulent for the fact I keep getting wrong information from everyone!! Can this company please get all on the same page?!!

Ally extended warranty- premier protection customer service is the absolute WORST! They cancelled our extended warranty without our knowledge- went through hell to get it put back on- traded our vehicle in and now we are going through even more hell to get our money back from the warranty! We’ve emailed, faxed and MAILED our payoff letter to them and once they finally, after multiple calls, received the letter, the guy mailed the check back to GM Financial instead of us! What is wrong with you people?? It’s been 2 months since we traded our vehicle in! They take your money with no problems

Had a auto loan. Car was totaled insurance paid 34,000.00 gap paid 9768.00. They are calling me daily saying we owe 5400.00 I called the gap company they said cashed the gap check on March 6 2020 Ally says they never received a check from gap I have copy of check the gap sent to ally. I told ally someone in your company cashed the check they keep denying ever receiving it. All they can say is can you make a payment on this outstanding balance.

I don’t use Ally Auto which I think the negative reviews are coming from, however Ally Checkings & Savings is amazing! Because it is completely online you get the best savings rates and they have a lot of really great features like buckets to keep your accounts organized and grow your money. I also use Ally Invest for stocks and it is very convenient. I believe in the company and they are doing very innovative things

My toilet is worth more stars than Ally Auto and this is straight honesty. On September 3, 2020 I called Ally Auto to request a loan modification to lower payments due to a loss of hours and revenue due to the Pandemic. Upon calling Ally the representative I spoke with said there was nothing in the records that showed I requested a loan modification in February 2020. I then asked to speak with someone else possibly a manager and they gave me a number to a different department to call. I hung up and called the other department and spoke with some who said they located the loan modification request

I also had a terrible experience with Ally Auto. I traded my car in to GM (2017) and while I was there they called Ally to get a payoff amount down to the cents. The money was wired to Ally (not even a check) and I was told my account was closed. 7 months later they hit my credit saying I owed them $200 and the account was in collections. The collections company demanded it for a while but after providing proof of payment and confirming that I did receive the title for my previous car they stopped. But it was too late by then, my credit score already dropped majorly.

Their online website is slow to be updated, and when it is the associates that you speak with by phone don't have the same updates that the app does. They swear I did not make a payment, and I explained what their own system was showing, and the fact that I was looking at the posted payment clearing my bank statement. They have continued to report me as past due even when I have proof of the payment. When calling in to speak with someone, you are given an option of doing a survey, but you are never allowed to actually do the survey. It is a good thing because they get an F from me!!
