The iconic marquee and 100-foot tall Art Deco neon tower with chasing colored lights and sparkling sphere were added to the exterior. The Theatre's name was officially shortened to "Alex". The Glendale Redevelopment Agency purchased the Alex Theatre to serve as the centerpiece of Glendale's revitalized Brand Boulevard and embarked on a $6.5 million rehabilitation of the facility.
The Alex Theatre opened as a 1,411-seat performing arts and entertainment center. The new facility included a stage expansion and new seating layouts, theatrical systems, and screen. The Alex has hosted thousands of programs and activities since its reopening and welcomes an average of 100,000 patrons through its doors annually.

Saw the 3 stooges film festival. Silly but enjoyable. You were required to show your vaccination card and wear a mask. Of course, 2 jokers and their girlfriends strolled in without masks after I was seated and were rather defiant about it. Hopefully, they actually showed their vaccination proof. If I had known there would be patrons like that, I would not have attended because I am an extremely careful senior.

My family went on the 28th of October to see a Spanish play Bely y Beto and they didn’t let us in because my 6 year old and my 1 year old didn’t have proof of a negative COVID test. They never notified us of kids needing negative COVID tests , me and my wife are vaxxed and provided proof, it was a disaster that day, we weren’t the only family,

Saw Raffi here and it was incredible. I'm a #belugagrad and saw Raffi when I was young so being able to bring my young daughter to see him was a dream come true. We both had an absolute blast. The theater itself is very nice inside and out. Sat in the balcony but still had a great view. All the staff was very friendly and engaging with the little ones. All around great experience.
