Services
Children's Ballet Theatre was founded in 1969 and is one of the leading dance institutions in Salt Lake City. At CBT, we believe dance is an art form where all talents can be beautiful and appreciated. As gifted children's teachers and choreographers, we are dedicated to providing a school where each child is loved and welcomed, and where they can express themselves openly and freely through movement and choreography.
Children's Ballet Theatre offers a variety of dance and music classes for children ages 2-18 years old. You'll find our classes welcoming and encouraging as we aim to teach through positivity and support, not intimidation or bullying. Enroll for a trial period to find out all that CBT has to offer for your child.
To our youngest students, the studio is a magical place. Pre-ballet is a time for children to explore, to create, and to express themselves through movement. Freedom of movement and expression is emphasized in all pre-ballet classes so your child's imagination becomes reality. The everyday activities of running, walking, jumping and spinning provide the opportunity to use their whole bodies.
CBT's classes for our lower division comprise correct placement of body, feet, head and arms and the study of the five basic positions and of the elementary movements stemming from them. Correct articulation of techniques and development of music and movement are emphasized.
As students progress through CBT's syllabi, emphasis is placed on building knowledge of all of the academic technical skills and eventually learning more complex steps and sequences designed to 'finish' the elementary ballet student.Character Dance is a form of Folk Dancing that is found in all classical ballets.

These popular and dynamic styles of dance are taught in a fun, positive environment to all age groups*. Extra classes are offered to round out our dancers' education and give them the knowledge of dance forms they will encounter at auditions and in guest choreography. At Children's Ballet Theatre, students have the opportunity to work with master teachers, choreographers and to even choreograph their own works.

I am at CBT because of the physical needs of my youngest child. She was even featured in an article in Arthritis Today Magazine because of the exceptional program Children's Ballet Theatre has to offer. CBT made sure that everything all the students are learning are safe during the crutial growth and development of these children. Thank You CBT!!!

I grew up taking at CBT and was always complimented on my technique thereafter. Having that technique allowed me to transfer into all the other types of dance and excel. That wasn’t even the best part. I have looked back on that time with CBT as one of the most influential in my life. The life lessons learned were ones of class, deep respect, appreciation, gratitude, and hard work. Now I want my little girl to have the best experience and am so excited that CBT is expanding down here in Lehi!
