Bob was a mover while in college, studying education. After working as a teacher, he returned to moving and opened up Century on tax day in 1976. Ever since, he has steadily grown the number of trucks, services, and employees offered by the company, and given back to the industry with leadership on the boards of the Illinois Mover's and Warehousemens' Association as well as the American Moving & Storage Association.
Bob is still actively hands-on in the business and enjoys the diversity of working with different customers every day. His four children have all grown up in the business, and his daughter, Megan, currently serves as company president. Megan is the youngest of the company founder's children and followed a path to become a teacher in Colorado for eight years before returning to Illinois and joining the family business she knew so well.

Century Moving was referred to us by our Real Estate agent for our move from Naperville, IL to Bluffton, SC. Our move was scheduled for Monday, June 7, 2021. The plan was for the movers to arrive at 9:00 a.m. They did not show up until 6:00 p.m.
We were assured by Century Moving that the “office would stay on top of our move so that the delivery goes much smoother”
The contract stated that the delivery date would fall anywhere between June 11th to June 18th. The delivery came on Friday, June 18h, the very last day.

The entire moving process from the quote to the last box being carried in was smooth! The office coordinator, Janet, calmed my nerves and answered every question I had. The team of movers, Rolando, Lottie, Ronnie, are highly professional and respectful. They were very careful with our furniture, wrapped everything, carried boxes in and put in correct rooms. They were humorous and hard-working. Not one problem. Would definitely work with Century Moving again and highly recommend them!

Century Movers were FANTASTIC!!!!! Never once did I worry that my belongings were being handled carelessly or going to end up broken upon arrival. The Century movers took the time to wrap things, pad things, and take apart things! My particular crew, Ronnie, Martin, Cesar, and Loddy were unbelievable professional and friendly from start to finish. This was my first time ever hiring movers, as I've been afraid of how much it would cost and my personal belongings being mishandled and let me tell you, Century Movers was worth every penny I spent (which was less than many of their compotators). They broke my 65" LED TV. When the woman walked around my house and gave my quote she said the TVs would be boxed and secured. When they took it off the truck I saw that the only packing they did was put a thin pad over it. When they removed the pad it was apparent that there was a huge crack in the screen. The TV is useless now. The owner came out and looked at it. The next day he said they would refund me $460 on a TV that cost me $2600. I was specifically told before the move how they would pack it, that was not done, and their negligence cost me my TV.

Sent a request to get a moving quote and got a response right away needing a bit more info. Was told I'd get a quote from Megan. Never received an email with the quote 3 days later so I sent another message to the owner on yelp and he apologized, but said Megan will get the quote to me ASAP. 6 days later, still nothing. A bit ridiculous how long and difficult it takes to get a quote when all of the other moving companies I looked at gave me a quote in 1 day.

Century Moving was recommended to me by a fellow Realtor, and I could not be happier. The ladies were very nice/communicative in regards to scheduling. The estimate was pretty spot on too esp. for what we had them help us do. This review is mainly for Ronnie though. Ronnie; the man, the myth, the legend. He has a great work ethic, and is detailed orientated when it came to moving our furniture. I definitely recommend this moving company because I feel like they are really looking out for your best interest.

This is our third move with Century Moving, and we couldn't have been happier with the great team of guys...Danny, Rolando, Loddy and Angel!
They were so accommodating, helpful and professional with moving our belongings. We have very heavy furniture and they handled it with ease. They had great personalities which made the difficult, stressful job of moving a lot more pleasant. I have recommended Century Moving to others and will continue to do so in the future. Our realtor will also be told about our positive experience with Century as well.

These mover is great! We got quotes from four movers, they were not the lowest (Always toss the lowest and highest) but less than the other two, and they were great! We moved from Chicago Northshore to near Kalamazoo MI, little more than half a trailer load. This is a family owned/operated company and agent for BEKINS. There was no flimflam shell game about the quote, mileage, extra charges, whatever. They showed up on time, the driver was great to work with and the workers worked their butt off. Moving is the last thing on most peoples wish list, BUT if you are moving from Chicago area Illinois

Proceed with caution. They were great about scheduling last minute and they had a good sized truck but beware of the time it will take. It took these guys over 6 hours hours to move my modest sized house after I got almost everything but large furniture in the garage prior to their arrival. They also indicated it would take them an hour less for the unload but that also took just as long. So at 12 full hours, you can imagine my sticker shock (it exceeded their walk-through estimate dramatically).
Other issues was the reassembling of furniture; several screws missing from my son's bunk-beds

I am updating my previous 1-star review to reflect a partial refund the owner gave me after my complaints. I appreciate the concern they had with my experience and efforts they made to make things better. I still stand by my prior review - With my main issue being the exceptionally slow pace at which they worked.
It took over 5 hours for 3 movers to move a 2 bedroom with 2 couches, 2 small tables and no boxes 1.5 miles away (my wife and I had previously moved all clothes / dishes / electronics / art etc). I paid less with 2 men and a truck a year ago and that was a move that was 35 miles
