Our wonderful, year-round tropical climate and rainfall make for a paradise for the pests of Hawaii. The following are some of the sources of pest infestations inside your home. 1. Living - Your home provides an ideal environment for many pests to live and breed. For every bug found, there are hundreds or even thousands hiding in the dark moist harboring spots located in the cracks and crevices and in the walls.
Every year, termites cause more damage in Hawaii than all flooding, fires, wind, and other natural disasters combined. They can enter into homes through cracks in the cement 1/32 of an inch wide. Termites are a subject where local knowledge is important. The homes built during the 80's in Mililani and Hawaii Loa Ridge were famous for ground termite problems because of the lack of effective pesticides during that period.
Bedbugs are a growing concern for many commercial enterprises and homeowners. Due to the discontinued use of some pesticides and more frequent travel to 3rd world countries, bedbugs have made a big comeback here in Hawaii. Bedbugs feed off humans as fleas feed on cats. Although they are not vectors of disease, they can cause skin irritation and can quickly produce an unappealing environment.
There are several treatment applications for pesky birds in Hawaii. You may have just had a family of birds nesting under your solar panels or birds constantly flying into your indoor living areas. Eddie and Bejay did such a great job explaining our pest control situation and went above and beyond to remedy our issues. We just had our annual termite inspection by Dave V. of Kilauea Pest Control. Dave conducted a very thorough inspection and educated us on preventive measures for termites plus much more. He performed precise spot treatments and scheduled for a follow-up treatment where height is a challenge. I'm very happy with the many years of service I've received from this firm.

We own a historic house in Kailua and have relied on KILAUEA PEST CONTROL since 2016. This company provides outstanding service! They maintain excellent records on our property and call us when service is due. Josh C, the supervisor, is our “point man” and answered all my questions. His knowledge and professionalism inspires confidence in their services. Our exterminator, David V, was excellent. He was very thorough and very careful. I had a rat issue. I called Kilauea and they were able to come out within 48 hours. I signed up for regular maintenance and received 1/2 off the initial set up. Trevor arrived to my house on time, was friendly, informative and helpful. He helped me move stuff out of a closet! Set traps, bait stations, left extras, and gave me detailed instructions on what to do next. Also... he was so sweet to my dog!

In trust the chemicals used by Kilauea Pest Control works, I believe they are deserving a stellar 5 star review. My home was treated yesterday... so I can't comment on the efficacy of the chemicals but as I said "In trust" .... So why 5 stars?
Well for starters Kilauea was one of 5 companies I reached out to via the Yelp business searches. Kilauea responded within the time line outlined on their Yelp Estimate form. One other company responded; a day late though and the other 3 did not bother getting back to me.

Matthew came out to do a Sentricon eval of my system. He spent a lot of time digging around to find the stations covered in grass and dirt to ensure I didn't need to pay more for new stations, and eventually found them all. Not only that, but he answered my questions for a solid ten minutes after, on everything from tenting, to pest control, to droppings. Always a pleasure to work with Kilauea!

Some of the best pest control on the island. They are very reliable and use pet friendly products. They've been able to keep stubborn ants out of the house so far.
We hesitated to hire a pest control company for years, figuring we could handle this on our own... then the ants started making a home out of the ant bait traps. We knew we had to do something else. These guys cleared up the problem in just a couple visits.
