Periodontal disease is diagnosed by your dentist or dental hygienist during a periodontal examination. This type of exam should always be part of your regular dental check-up. A periodontal probe (small dental instrument) is gently used to measure the sulcus (pocket or space) between the tooth and the gums.
Periodontal treatment methods depend upon the type and severity of the disease. Your dentist and dental hygienist will evaluate for periodontal disease and recommend the appropriate treatment. Periodontal disease progresses as the sulcus (pocket or space) between the tooth and gums gets filled with bacteria, plaque, and tartar, causing irritation to the surrounding tissues.

Dr. King and his staff are amazing! I travel a hour and 15 min just to go to get my work done! Very reactive, professional and super friendly!
The best part is the amazing results they provide! Jennifer did an amazing job on my teeth! Also keeping me calm because I have high anxiety when it comes to dental work!

Went there to get a gum graft, half a year later the gum began to recede again. Turns out the tooth that he worked on began to eat itself. He said it was from an accident 15 years ago, and that nothing was wrong when i first came to see him. I did some digging, and the problem is internal resorption, which is largely caused by periodontal work. So I went there for a gum graft, and came out missing a tooth. Do not recommend.

Dr. King's work was way below par. After the 2nd failed implant I developed a serious jaw infection. He under treated the infection resulting in loss of an adjacent tooth and much bone loss. As a result of the significant bone loss due to under treatment of the infection, according to an oral surgeon, the possibility of another implant is in doubt. There is so much bone loss that, even with a bone graft operation to increase the bone volume, the odds are low that enough bone could be replaced. I kept telling Dr. King that the infection wasn't going away. He ignored me and kept reassuring me that

Dr. King is excellent at what he does. I was very nervous when I came in and he reassured me that I would be very comfortable during my procedure. I came in the day of my surgery and everyone was very friendly-from the lady at the front office to the assistant that helped with my procedure. I highly recommend him and his staff!!
