Berlin Community Daycare & Preschool was founded as The Learning Haven in 1981 as a not for profit 501(c)(3), community owned organization. Since our opening over 30 years ago, BCDC has gone through an evolution in early childhood education but one thing has remained the same; our dedication to the area children and their families.
At our start, we provided care for children 2 to 5 years. Now we offer many different programs from before and after school care, 4 year old kindergarten, 3 and 4 year old preschool, a school-aged summer program, infant and toddler care and a curriculum for all age groups that includes sign language, Spanish, arts, music and more.

Services
At Berlin Community Daycare & Preschool children are encouraged to flourish socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically through learning opportunity after opportunity, each cleverly disguised as play! We don't believe in workbooks or activity sheets, we think children still learn the way they ALWAYS have; by exploring, experimenting and playing!
We provide child care Monday through Friday, year round except for the days which we are closed as indicated here. We are open from 5:30am to 6:00pm. A daily routine gives children the sense of security and stability that they need early in life. Each classroom runs on its own schedule set forth by that classroom's teacher.

Prior to moving to the Berlin area we had many friends who didn't work outside the home and were able to care for Greta.
In our work, we put great focus on one thing - the welfare of your child. The first element in a positive learning experience is safety and security. Our staff treats each child with respect and compassion. Our team of educators works hard to develop individualized lesson plans based on each child's needs.
The center is centrally located in the city of Berlin at 107 West Moore Street, so it's likely not far from your home or work. Our facility formerly housed the Saint Stan's Catholic Elementary School, providing an appropriate layout for child care as well as a bit of nostalgia for many of our parents!

I started bringing my baby here in May of 2017. I was dreading having to leave my baby with someone else when returning to work. But they made the transition from my maternity leave so much easier because I knew Drew was in a good, fun, and safe environment. I was so impressed with the daycare the I decided to make a career change,and I begin working at the daycare in July of 2017. One of the best decisions I've ever made. I love it here. I am blessed with a good group of coworkers and the job is so rewarding! I strongly disagree with the disgruntled former employee. This daycare is a very good

I was employed here at the daycare, and no I am not just an upset former employee; with me working here, my daughter was scheduled for the same times I was working and I worked in the same room she was in. I did not like how they take care of the kids, for those parents who want their children to be read to and to begin the world of learning like all infants/children should, that is not happening there, except for when I was there, otherwise they just sit around playing with toys all day, eating and napping. I also was asked to fill in for the 1 yr old, 2 yr old and 4 yr old room a couple times
