Gemstone Climbing Center
Gemstone is the only Indoor Rock Climbing, Yoga and Fitness Gym in Southern Idaho. We have climbing for All Ages and All Abilities. We have yoga for All Ages and All Abilities. We have fitness classes and equipment for All Ages and All Abilities. There is something for here everyone. Time-Life Health magazine has said that indoor rock climbing is considered the Ultimate Full Body and Mind Workout.

We have top roping, lead climbing, and bouldering. We offer numerous youth classes and adult classes including climbing, yoga, fitness, ninja warrior and obstacle course classes. We offer yoga in a variety of styles and heat. We have an 1100 square feet upstairs space that lends itself to everything from quiet meditation to powerful yoga styles including gentle, slow, warm and hot yoga (105 F and 50% humidity).
Services
Must be able to climb a proficient 10B before taking the class. It is a two day course set for 2 hours each day. The 2 hour time may be exceeded each day so plan accordingly. Participants must wait 24 hours after course to test for certification so also plan for this in your schedule. This test can be done when there is a Gemstone Employee certified to give the Lead Test available.
We have partnered with United Way of South Central Idaho to provide climbing opportunities for our youth and disadvantaged community members. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to elevate their life. We believe that everyBODY can climb. All donations you make are tax deductible through the United Way.
For more information on yoga and fitness classes including OCR, please email the Operations Manager\Fitness Director kim@gemstoneclimbing.rocks or call 208-329-7257 x 2. It is a movement based class with a strong emphasis on breath, strength, and flexibility. The classes are powerful, vigorous, energetic and playful.
For more information, volunteer opportunities, or to sign up for an adaptive climbing session, please contact our Programs Manager, Patty McFarling. Gemstone Climbing was the first fully ADA (American Disabilities Act) accessible climbing gym in the world. Today, other gyms are providing similar facilities and we applaud them.
After getting signed in and geared up, the party begins! The fun begins on the climbing floor with a 1.5 hour climbing session (belayer to climber ratio of 1:5). When the party guests are ready, we move into your party room supplied with table, chairs, and a sink. You are welcome to bring your own decorations, food, cakes, ice cream and such.

I came in & saw one of the routes labeled “dry tools only” and went to the front desk to ask what that meant. Taylor explained it was how you train for ice climbing, she brought me the tools & took the time to explain to me how to use them & gave me some pointers. I climbed my first 5.10c & I climbed for my first time with dry tools, Taylor is the GEM of this gym.

Love climbing at gemstone! Employees are always helpful and friendly! A rad place to hang out and find new climber friends! Wish I could leave a 5 star review, the only thing keeping me from doing so is that gemstone seems to attract egotistical twin falls celebrity wannabes with very fragile masculinity complexes, a real bummer but most of the time other gym goers help to create a positive and inclusive environment for climbing and having fun!

Came here to hang out with our favorite celebrity American Ninja Warrior Christian the DarkFox who is our favorite rock climber/gymnast/BASE jumper. He was treated horribly by the staff and by a girl named Taylor. We are not proud of the way he was treated. Terrible staff and terrible place with employees that are egotistical and rude to celebrities and their kids. Wouldn’t recommend or come back with our family.

I brought my two kids here and from the very start the staff was rude and unprofessional. The kid working the front desk seemed like he was high and did not care one single bit about customers. Then a girl named Taylor stocked us and made rude comments to me and then I caught her berating my son for a mistake he made that was an total accident. He cried and came to find me in tears though I saw the whole encounter. She didn’t even offer an apology. Then she made a comment to me when I asked if they had a salmon ladder that was totally uncalled for. She told me not to hurt myself in a very sarcastic

Great place to practice technical parts of routes like having to reach around corners for handholds, doing inverted climbing or getting better at dinos they even put in new routes regularly so there's always something new to try.

Took my granddaughter there for a 6 year-old birthday party. Most of the kids had no climbing experience. The staff was great in orientation and the kids all had a great time! It was hard to get my granddaughter to leave. She was asking when she could come back as we were leaving. Would've been nice to have more of a concession. Drinks, at least.

We went as a family and we had a great experience here. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the variety they had, lots of options for climbers of all ages and skills. My daughter is 6 and she didn't want to stop. Her favorite part was in the family section where they have a bouldering wall that ends with a slide after you reach the top. Plenty of walls for my husband as well who wanted more of a challenge. Definitely recommend to everyone!!

My boyfriend and I are from Colorado and we were looking for a place to stretch out our legs. This place did exactly that! They offered showers with towels which is nice when you have been camping instead of staying at hotels. Definitely check this place out it will be worth your time. I am happy we took our climbing gear on our trip. If you did not, their rentals are relatively cheap and worth it.
