Good hotel well-suited as base for plenty of Everglade-adventures. We didn't miss anything. The king bed was comfortable, the room was very clean. Quite area at night, which allows a good sleep if the fridge and A/C are turned off.
A nice perk: staying here provides a 10% discount on various adventures in the area, i.e. Airboat rides, etc.

Wife and I spent 2 nights here and it was very pleasant. Rooms were clean and organized. Being in a pool industry for 22 years, of course I checked the room air conditioner filters and found them to be clean. I also checked the filter on the dehumidifier and found it to be clean. Keep the dehumidifier on. You will need to empty it, as it gets full every 24 hours. Pool area was clean and the front desk was helpful. Definitely would go back.

Best hotel in the area. The room was a 10/10. The lady at the front desk was so friendly, gave suggestions about where to eat and told about some history of Everglades City. We stayed here after a visit to Shark Valley- Everglades NP. Definitely will stay again if we are ever in the area.

Stayed one night here in Everglades City. The room was very nice. New and clean. They weren't setup with dishes in the kitchenette yet when we stayed but this wasn't an issue for us. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

Deanna (the lady at the front desk at the time I showed up) was VERY nice, polite, hospitable, and helpful! She provided me with a lot of information on what to do in town, everything from what restaurants to go to to hiking trails! The room I got was very cheap yet I got a king sized bed in a very clean and nice room! One of the best cheap hotels I have been to in awhile! If I have any complaints to make it would just be that the wifi doesn’t work and the toilet could have a more powerful flush. Besides those two things though my stay was pretty fantastic! They even have an adorable semi-outdoor

Absolutely a MUST STAY if in the area. We just stayed here for the first time and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. They were knowledgeable about the area, restaurants to go to, and what to do in the area. We were so pleased with the cleanliness of the facility and the room. We felt very safe and will be staying here at our next visit. The location of this hotel is perfect. Close by all the main roads, gas stations, restaurants and parks. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Comfortable rooms, very friendly, helpful staff. Ambient air temp was 70s and pool felt frigid (not a heated pool). Kayaks all seemed in great condition, no gear issues. This is not an eco-lodge, rooms have air conditioner, tv, mini fridge, microwave and coffeemaker! We were disappointed with their reliance on styrofoam and plastic dishes/utensils at breakfast- they should invest in real dishes/silverware if they want to be more eco friendly.

I've never stayed here. I have tried twice and my trip had to be cancelled due to a broken boat engine. There is NO REFUND on booking here should you cancel . I will not ever stay here simply because of that. I will only stay at places who allow one to pay upon arrival, as I've been burned by too many bait and switch frauds who advertise "free cancellation " and then charge anyway. I will discuss this with my attorney and maybe subpoena their records and see if they got paid double on the room rental. If so, a lawsuit will follow. I'll update as this situation develops

My family did a mid-morning kayak trip with guide Nathan. We really enjoyed the experienced and learned a lot about nature and Florida. We saw some gators and other cool birds and wildlife. Though none of us were very experienced paddlers, the guide helped us to feel comfortable and safe. Thanks so much Ivey House!

4 day sea kayak rental
Disappointing. Kayak was in poor condition and quality: neoprene hatch cover torn, spare paddle blade delivered broken, hard seat, hull repair, cheap aluminum paddle. It would make an inconfortable 100 mile wilderness trail trip to Flamingo. As for kayaking out of Everglades city with same return I would recommend somewhere else. The hum of roaring engines from the massive airboat industry running from Everglades City can be heard all the way past Panther Key.

The Ivey House served us well during our stay in Everglades City. Clean, comfortable, and quiet community, but the dehumidifier was VERY loud all night. We probably could have turned it off and slept better. We did the morning guided kayak tour from 7:30-11:30 and it was a wonderful experience!!!!! It was the highlight of our trip. ****If you arrive after office hours, pick up bottled water and snacks BEFORE you arrive in Everglades City / nothing is open late and they do not recommend drinking the tap water.

We did not stay at their hotel but used their kayaking guides to kayak around the Everglades and through the mangrove tunnels. Saw a bunch of alligators and different types of birds. They have single or tandem, and guide was explained the local wildlife well. Was around four hours and loved how it was environmentally friendly and wildlife encounters were totally organic.

Love it. Perfect place for two people just on a random supposedly day trip to Chokoloskee. It got to late to drive back so we ended up just staying here. We had our own room with two twin beds. Hostel style bathroom and a common space living roon with 3 seprate showers, 3 sinks etc. There's options to get private room with it own bath.

The Ivey House is a unique and wonderful gem. The entire place has great charm and the staff went way overboard to make our stay perfect. It's not luxurious, but is authentic and very comfortable. The historic facility is clean and very well kept. I can't recommend them and the associated Everglades Adventures kayak and canoe guides/rentals highly enough. The covered pool is perfect on hot evenings and the european-style breakfast very good.

Everglades City, population 500. Give or take.

A little off the beaten path. In the beginning, this part of Chokoloskee Bay was inhabited by the Glades Indians. Their shell mounds are still in places apparent. Later, when the coast to coast Tamiami Trail was built EC was a staging area and construction camp. Today it's largely the gateway to the Everglades, with small local commerce supported by visitors who know what's good.

The Everglades have three primary people places - Flamingo (near the southern tip of continental Florida), the main visitor center outside Florida City, and
