MedStar moved my wife to a new facility. According to my wife, the driver, Sully, drove very erratically, and had an inappropriate personal cell phone call regarding the "hot nurse" at the medical facility while he drove with my wife in the van in rush-hour traffic. At the destination, the driver butted in on a personal conversation between my wife and me in the elevator. I told him that I wasn't speaking to him, and he became incensed. He unleashed an F-word laden rant against my mother and me. He took two steps towards me and squared up like he was going to hit me. This occurred right next to

If there was a way to give a company negative stars, this would be that situation...
My father passed away a week ago. My parents were both together in a hospice group home when it happened. My mother, who has end stage Parkinson's Disease and Dementia, is bed-bound. Obviously, it was important for us to get her to her husband's funeral service. MedStar was referred to us by the hospice company tending to my mother, so I called and set up round trip transport from the group home to the church where the services were being held.
I had only 2 specific requests of the transport service

Picked up my dad. He can walk with a walker, but we wanted him to be in a wheelchair to make it safer. The driver picked him up on time, and brought him home as planned from the MRI imaging center. Thanks MedStar :)
Since my initial review, we have utilized MedStar’s services in the Scottsdale and Phoenix areas. They have been very reliable. My dad is 90 years old, and he is very happy with them :)

Did not pick up a prepaid account at the hospital. I had surgery and had a pick up all set however they never showed up at the hospital. They left a surgical patient without any way to get home.
After being told i would have to wait more than two hours, when the hospital called them at the end of the two hours, they told the hospital i would have to wait more time. When the hospital said this was unacceptable the company did not care and would not get a manager or supervisor for the hospital to talk to. i need not say more you get the point. one more thing, the fact that they do not

I own 5 assisted living homes throughout Phoenix and have tried lots of transportation companies for my residents. Medstar by far has provided my residents the best transportation service. They are always on time, their drivers couldn't be nicer to my residents, and their salesperson Tara is available at any time. She's even been very willing to help when I've called her on vacation for help. When a family at one of my assisted living homes asks me for a transportation recommendation, I don't hesitate to recommend Medstar. Your loved one will be completely safe and happy using Medstar. I give them

The HR lady is the best as well as old management but the new management is horrible. They are uncompassionate, non understanding and all together unprofessional at this place. I worked for nine months without even one reprimand and the called me into office after doing eleven trips in less than five hours and they fired me. When I tried to explain why I did what they were saying was so bad I got told none of that mattered by the ED. I also explained to them that was my grandbaby and how my living situation was to care for man with Luekemia and his medical bills were stacking up and in no way could

My father had to be admitted to a therapy center. He requires dialysis 3 times a week. On a Saturday, he was scheduled for dialysis at 12:30. Medstar said they would pick him up at 11:15. They picked him up, but then got lost and drove around for 1.5 hours (the dialysis place was up the street about 5 minutes). They brought him back to the therapy center and missed his dialysis appointment. My dad was very distraught and said the female driver was very rude to him. He was rescheduled for 4:00. He called us at 6:15 and said he had just begun receiving his dialysis. After a few hours, he

I had to arrange long distance transport for my stepmother who has dementia to San Francisco from Peoria, AZ. Liz and Jennifer were prompt, efficient and completely caring- no small feat considering what they had to contend with. They quoted me a price, honored it, sent the dream team Liz and Jennifer, of course) to accompany their patient, and did it with a level of empathy I myself doubt I could have mustered.
I would use them again in a heartbeat without any reservations. Thank you for making a really difficult situation better for our family.

The guy who was to pick up my husband this morning for dialysis, was very rude and obnoxious. He was to be at our home at 10:50am and he showed up an hour early. When I said that to him and asked if he could wait for a little bit he barked back at me in a very arrogant manner. No I cannot wait so I'll just leave. Then I asked him if could wait 10 minutes, he said I'll call dispatch. He came back to the door and said he would wait 10 minutes and absolutely no longer.
That was not a bit professional and I hope we don't have to use that company for transportation again

This company is a joke! We paid for my father in law to be transferred from cottonwood to Phoenix so we could set up in home hospice. We were told they would arrive from 130-3 well around 315 we found out they weren't coming. Not only did they not bring my father in law home they also kept our money. My father in law passed away and we have to wait 10 business days to get our $500 back! I know have funeral costs and am short on cash since I had to pay another transfer company that actually did their job. This place is terrible and could care less about the people they say they are helping

If i could rate below zero i would! unfortunately I have to select something to write the review. I called Banner to set up transportation for my wheelchair bound husband the week of October 14th. I recieved a conformation number and a scheduled pickup time of 9am. From our home it is a maximum 15 minute ride, but I do understand the early scheduled pick up times. We needed to be at the lab by 10am, and the van showed up at 10am. The driver had many apologies but none of them changed the fact that we were now running late for xrays and labs. (for which my husband was fasting for) once at our destination

I've worked as a CNA in many SNF's around the east valley over the past 2 years and 2 transport guys from your company stick out the most! Clinton & Kevin Brown! I've witnessed Kevin and his incredibly calming and reassuring demeanor with patients while we are transferring them from stretcher to bed many times. He has an amazing way to connect with the patients he transports! Clinton is always very kind and loves engaging everyone in conversation, great at reassuring nervous patients as well. These 2 guys are amazing! I love seeing them walk in when we're getting an admission

I do not recommend this company! They arrived 20 min late picking up my mom for an appt and still charged me for the trip even though they didn't take her. It was so late, I had to figure out another way to get her there. Very stressful and they couldn't have cared less. Still waiting for a refund, Medstar.

For those of you who just want to know if they should use this company or not without reading a long review let me just say this. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY TRANSPORTATION NEEDS. I needed stretcher transport to my first post-op appointment with my neurosurgeon after having spine surgery. I was told they would be at my house at 8:00am for a 9:00am appointment. They showed up at 8:25am. Luckily rush hour was not so bad and I made it to my appointment on time. But that's not the bad part. What made my experience so horrible was calling them at 11:30am to be picked up at the doctor's

Med Star sent over one person to transport my mom from the hospital to a nursing home as she recovered from multiple fractures. As we were in the parking lot of the hospital and after attempting to jam her into the back of the van 2x, on the 3rd time, she rolled out of the van and slammed onto the ground. Luckily still strapped to the gurney, but never the less excruciating pain as she was dropped straight down from a high level. This was bad enough, but when I told the driver to call 911, he said 'Oh wait, just wait a second, can we talk". I said "no you need to call 911 now, and

I just wanted to take the time to let Medstar know that I believe they are the best transport company ever! They were there within the time frame, and the driver was friendly and helpful. I know we all have different experiences but I have to say I had a great one. The dispatchers were friendly, out going and understanding. Keep up the great work MEDSTAR!
