Awakenings by the Sea's vision is to provide alcoholic and/or drug addicted women and their families an opportunity to choose a healthier way of life at an affordable rehab. The untreated alcoholic or addict may suffer physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual maladies; the impact that the alcoholic or addict has on those around them can be equally devastating.
Awakenings by the Sea's alcohol and drug treatment center in Oregon believes that alcoholism and drug addiction are primary illnesses, which are chronic and progressive and that, without proper treatment, are ultimately fatal.

Services
Women face unique challenges when overcoming substance abuse. For decades, research on the subject did not consider the specific ways in which drugs and alcohol affected the sexes differently. The movement to understand addiction and treatment for women has made great strides.
Our medical professionals and dedicated staff at our Oregon rehab designed for women are prepared to help you, or the woman in your life, find the treatment that is scientifically designed for women. We offer the first & only women's ASAM 3.1, 3.5, 3.7 certified program in the Pacific Northwest. In the last 35 years, addiction and recovery experts have begun to implement strategies in addiction services which do not ignore gender differences.

Awakenings by the Sea is a privately owned, 18-bed, Women's only affordable rehab center where the journey of recovery begins for those suffering from the disease of Chemical Dependency. Our rehab programs have a comprehensive and structured schedule to accommodate therapy groups, educational groups, individual counseling, treatment planning and individual work assignments.
Just as there various circumstances that help create substance abuse disorders in a person, there are several treatment components that help a person recover. At Awakenings by the Sea, we offer rich treatment program offerings that foster physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual health. Most of these addiction program offerings are inextricably linked; each one affects the other in very important ways.
Beyond our comprehensive drug and alcohol treatment program, we offer our clients services that are customized to meet their varying needs. Some clients require detoxification; others come in with physical ailments that need medical attention first. Our Oregon rehab is small by design so that we are able to offer an array of services to meet clients where they are when they walk through our doors.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an advance implementation of psychoanalysis and therapy we are proud to offer at Awakenings by the Sea. Under the supervision of our Director, Tabatha Christopherson, qualified patients undergo specialized processes to speed the recovery from the pain of addiction.

Please do not waste your money or time on this facility. They take almost 7k upfront and allow your loved one to walk away from the facility. I sent my child here from another state and she walked away from the facility in less than 6 days. They said there was nothing they could do. So now my child is on the streets somewhere in a different state left to wander alone. Every time I called the facility to talk with someone the person was either working from home or their shift ended soon and didn't have the time to talk. Nobody from the facility has reached out at all to see if she was ok or were

Great group of women. Patients are required to attend many meetings, which is wonderful. They need to work on Trauma Informed Care. While it is important for an addict to learn how to manage shame- some exercises can prove to be dangerous if a clients background is not considered in depth before such group exercises.

Awakenings was a wonderful experience for me. I was able to learn many skills here that I can build with and practice in my everyday life. I have found a new sense of FREEDOM AND HOPE. The program here really makes you do what I call " Soul Surgery". I was able to be vulnerable here and to learn to trust the process. Thank you to ALL THE STAFF; ADMISSIONS, CLINICAL, TECHS AND COUNSELORS!!!!
YOU ALL MADE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON ME AND I WILL MISS YOU ALL!!!!!!

Awakenings By The Sea helped me save my life! I was extremely terrified of the thought of going to a treatment center. Awakenings accepted me with open arms! From day one they were very patient (I wasn't the easiest person to deal with during detox) and taught me how to love myself. I wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for this facility! I highly recommend giving them a call if you or a loved one is suffering. I'll have 6 years sober/clean in December. 💜

I am beyond grateful for the remarkably positive and truly transformative experience I have had at Awakenings by the Sea! This women's only facility is located in a lovely vintage house, which feels like a comforting, supportive and welcoming home. I never once felt judgement or shame from any of the staff or other patients. I was terrified to enter treatment, but from the first day, my nerves were quickly put at easy by the kindness and knowledge of the staff supporting me, and sharing their own stories--setting my fears and shame aside so I could rest, heal and recover in a nurturing environment

In 2008 all I wanted to was die. I trying to do that with alcohol and sleeping pills on a daily/nightly bases.
I arrived at Awakenings by the Sea on 1/29/2008 by way of a ride from Mr. Arnold whom actually picked me up and Vancouver, Wa and brought me there. I couldn’t get a ride. I was greeted by a bunch of loving folks. That I immediately felt I could Trust.
2 weeks into my treatment I felt I needed more then a 28 day program, as you see I’d been living with the disease of alcoholism my whole life. Being the product of 2 alcoholics I believe I was born with this terminal disease. I went

My 2 months at Awakenings has been life changing. The staff was so accommodating and individualized my treatment plan. I felt safe, supported and valued since the moment I arrived. The women support each other and provide a safe place to deal with trauma, shame and learning to be transparent. I have a completely knew outlook on life, myself and have reconnected with my higher power after 11+ years of disconnect.

I needed a safe place of refuge to escape my life and the chaos I was going through. I needed a safe place that would hold me when I wanted to explode. I needed a safe place where I could check out of life so I could check in with my heart and soul. I found everything I needed at Awakenings. I found women who were searching to heal from trauma the way I was searching. I found staff that was patient, caring, and nurturing. I found my strength and I found my laugh and I left with the tools I needed to regain control over my life. I highly recommend awakenings to all women looking to recover. I got
