It can be a daunting task for seniors and families searching for the perfect new home. The "just right" choice may be a modern senior living setting with many retirement amenities, or it may be a smaller "country" style home with rocking chairs on the front porch. ALAA member-communities are licensed by the Alabama Department of Public Health and must meet rigorous inspection standards.
ALAA strives to provide timely continuing education notices, links, legislation, and blogs relating to regulations, rules, best practices, and public policy for professional providers of assisted living services. We provide CEU approved accredited professional education and professional training for Administrator licensing.
The Assisted Living Association of Alabama represents licensed providers of assisted living and is a leading voice in public policy benefiting seniors living in any environment. Our emphasis is always on maximizing independence and dignity for seniors. We accomplish these goals through building coalitions, educating consumers and providers, and advocating for progressive public policy at the state and national level.
ALAA continually monitors public policy initiatives and regulatory changes that impact our communities and the seniors who live in them. Alabama public policy is complex. The Alabama Department of Public Health licenses assisted living. The State Health Plan is developed by the Statewide Healthcare Coordinating Council.
