Services
Since the beginning of her legal career in 1980, our attorney, Maryann E. Foley, has focused on family law. Her three decades of experience make her prepared to guide you as you face any family law challenge, regardless of its complexity. For more than 30 years, the Law Office of Maryann E. Foley has offered family law assistance to the people of Anchorage and the surrounding areas.
When attorney Maryann E. Foley founded our law firm, the Law Office of Maryann E. Foley, in 1985, family law was much different than it is today. In fact, over the past three decades, legislative changes have been implemented that have, in some respects, put "family" back in this area of the law. Today, courts across the country, including those here in Alaska, no longer favor the mother for custody, nor do they consider spousal support a right.
Knowledge is said to be power, which is why we at the Law Office of Maryann E. Foley believe in educating our clients. By providing information and setting realistic expectations for divorce, our attorney can simplify the process and address many of our clients' concerns before they even file their divorce petitions.

Ms Foley knows family law and she knows the courts. She doesn't do drama and stays focused on the facts. Her no nonsense approach can be off putting. It's been 10 years but I felt she was an excellent advocate and guide through my highly contested divorce. Her insights were forward looking and today I do NOT have issues with my ex because she was savvy enough to ensure the long view. I highly recommend Ms Foley. But if it's drama you want, you better find someone else.

Worst experience with a legal "professional" I have ever had or heard of. Did not advise on process or options or long term aspects of divorce proceedings began representing myself after that experience. Ultimately I hired another attorney, only then did I fully appreciate the level of disservice her representation was to me and my case.

This is a no-frills, small office that offers big service. I found Ms. Foley to be both very professional and helpful in my initial consultation. She explained the law and my options clearly. Her office staff has been attentive and available for questions. I hired Ms. Foley, not to hold my hand, but to know the law and apply it fairly. I am very pleased with the proceedings so far and look forward to a satisfactory divorce for both parties.

I have never been treated so badly. I was vulnerable and I felt like she preyed on me. She was very lazy with my case and charged me $25k to do Nothing! She was VERY rude and dismissive to me even knowing I was abused in my relationship. I was so embarrassed in court from her lack off preparedness in the case and preparing me. It was so bad that the judge saw it! The judge asked me THREE times if I thought I had proper representation from my lawyer. By this point I just wanted it over and told so. He gave Foley a dirty look and said ok to me with the look of sadness. I lost millions in this case

This woman was so unbelievably rude and unprofessional. The office smells like dog pee. There are tiny little dogs that look like something from Pet Cemetery scampering around the office. I found cuter looking things at the bottom of a deep fryer. I haven’t even gotten to the “consult” yet.
I paid this woman for a divorce consult and instead of informing me of laws or guiding me through what the process would look like, she mocked me until I was in tears. I asked her if she thought it was funny when a husband abuses his wife and she said “sometimes” with like a grinchy smile.... if the

Hey assistant was rude when I briefly stated that I was looking to change the jurisdiction of my case to another state. When I finally contacted foley herself. She was even worse. She was short in explaining why I was unable to change state jurisdiction and talked to me as if I was stupid and should know. It is not my job to know the law and knitty gritty of why I can't do things. That's why people hire and call lawyers...worst lawyer ever. Typical stuck up know it all.
