Originally located in the Old Nottoway Theater building, Watkins Jewelers was founded in 1951 by A. Winston Watkins who purchased Stone Jewelers, an on-going business since 1936.

The most important factors to consider when purchasing a diamond are the 4C's outlined by GIA (Gemological Institute of America). Our knowledgable staff can provide all of the information needed to select the perfect stone for your engagement ring. Shop and compare our prices on GIA and EGL diamonds 1.00 carat and above.
There are several types of jewelry appraisal services. The work involved is the same but the value placed on an item can be vastly different. Also, keep in mind that while an item may have sentimental value, an appraisal can only determine the intrinsic value of an item. The Insurance Replacement Appraisal is used to have an item added as a rider onto your homeowners or renters policy.
The two methods of engraving we use are computerized diamond drag and laser. Diamond drag engraving is suitable for deep engraving in metal and glass. Laser engraving is used primarily for glass, wood, and plastic. Our laser system is also capable of creating intricate shapes. Our engraving staff is skilled in repairing, improving, and creating custom logos.

Watkins Jewelers, Inc., is a first-class, top-drawer business that has been operating since the 1930s, and for a reason. They treat people right. They are courteous, skilled, and knowledgeable. I was there today with two minor items — changing a battery in a prized watch and replacing the band on an everyday watch. The owner and his staff treated me as if I were buying the Hope Diamond. All of this may appear to be trivial. But it not. It is what reputable businesses do and how they treat people. I was very impressed with Watkins Jewelers, Inc., of Blackstone, VA, and highly recommend the firm

Will Watkins designed my brother's engagement ring and wedding band for his fiance, as well as my wedding band. Both times, Will did exquisite work, making sure that the details were exactly as we envisioned them. My wedding band surpassed all of my expectations, is truly unique, and I can't wait to wear it after the wedding!
