Services
Dr. Kaplow, a NYS licensed Optometrist, received her Doctorate of Optometry from SUNY College of Optometry in New York City and has practiced for over 30 years. She is a member of the following professional organizations: American Optometric Association, Rochester Optometric Society, College of Optometrists in Vision Development and the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association.
20/20 just means that the person can clearly see a certain letter on the standard eye chart (equivalent to what a person with normal vision should be able to see at 20 feet). There's so much more to healthy vision than 20/20! Comprehensive Eye Exams are vital to maintaining your vision and overall ocular health.
Some visual conditions cannot be treated adequately with just glasses, contact lenses and/or patching, and are best resolved through a program of Vision Therapy. Our evaluations determine the patient's visual and motor skill level. Vision Therapy is then programmed to meet specific needs for development of proper visual, perceptual and motor abilities.
I am 71 years old and have had a lazy eye all my life. I have repeatedly asked opticians in my many visits I have made them if they have found a cure for Amblyopia and they've always said no. About a month ago, at a routine eye exam, I was told about Dr. Kaplow so decided to make an appointment. I was given a test where I was shown a 3D fly picture and asked to pick it up by it's wings.

I was told by Rochester Eye Associates that Allens Creek Family Optometry’s Vision Therapy would help my 15 year old granddaughter with her double vision issues, which were getting worse. We have just completed 11 half hour sessions with exercises to do for homework and Dr. Kaplow re-evaluated her yesterday and her vision has improved tremendously. Her eyes are tracking much better. We only need 5 more sessions. I would recommend this service to anyone with vision problems that can’t be fixed with glasses. The entire staff is exceptional.

Back in February of 2018 I woke up in the ER with people cutting my clothes off...I had been hit while crossing the street, had a brain injury, and multiple other physical trauma. I spent 6 months in the "care" of a neurologist who couldn't suggest anything to help the headaches, dizziness, confusion, anxiety other than drugs. I've had two eye exams here.. The people at this place, from the receptionist to the assistants to the doctors are unfailingly helpful, kind, and professional. I feel like I'm in good hands at Allen's Creek Family Optometry.
The procedures for preparing for my appointment ( print out and sign the 3 check in documents, arrange with your other provider to have your records faxed to the office) seemed like a little more work for the patient than I was expecting, but perhaps that'll change when we get past this pandemic. Overall, the care is excellent and I'm definitely going back there...

I have worn glasses my entire life and subsequently have had numerous eye exams and glasses. By far, Allan Creek Family Optometry is the best. The optometrists conduct a thorough exam; she took time to know me and my eyes and answered each of my questions with detail and thoughtful responses.
