John Luckenbach, the son of Irene, photographed here with Aunt Olga Frantzen at Knopp's in the 1970's. John spent his life working at Knopp's as an Administrator. Back in the early 60's Mary Knopp became the caretaker of a family member in her own home. Mary was good at this work, and soon began caring for other elderly residents of Fredericksburg.
With retirement apartments for the independent senior, our assisted living facilities, and skilled nursing care, Knopp's can be your partner in addressing the full array of elderly needs, all in the beautiful town of Fredericksburg. Available to residents and family members at each Knopp facility is Chaplain, Lucinda Zesch.

Our goal is to help you return to the quality of life you enjoyed prior to the setback currently at hand. Outpatient Therapy is available for those able to return home.
At each of our Knopp homes our pursuit is to create a vibrant environment for the resident. We believe Resident Activities are more than the passing of time; they are a healing opportunity! The goal is an activity program that will nourish the physical, spiritual, and mental appetite of the resident in a variety of exciting and innovative ways.
We don't have jobs here at Knopp's, we have a purpose. This purpose is to do work that honors God by way of assisting those truly in need. Every position here, far beyond the nurse, helps fulfill the needs of the resident. For example, the Kitchen Assistant is helping to prepare a meal for someone that could not prepare such a meal in their own home.

Total nastiness. Would you want your loved one here? See pics. I live 4 hours away and arrived to find my father in this horror. My father was admitted to Skilled Nursing at Knopp. We were called & told that because he 'got out the door' he was transferred to their Memory Care unit because they couldn't control him. He got out the door because a worker propped the door open and the wander guard alarm on my Dad's wheelchair wasn't working. Both violations. The transfer to their Memory Care was done without our consent. At the time of of this transfer we were told we
