Services
In 1898 Clark memorials was founded by C. J. Clark in Americus, Georgia. He and his two sons, Egbert and Russell, managed the company until 1930. One of the company's early projects was to construct 9 of the 12 Civil War memorials in Andersonville National Cemetery. This was quite a feat as only mules, wagons and limited mechanical equipment were used in the construction of this very large project.
Clark Memorials of Alabama, Inc. offers engraving services for markers and monuments already in the cemetery. Most common engraving is adding a person name and/or a date of passing. When we engrave in the cemetery, we match the font and style so that it matches what is existing on the monument. Orders are typically completed within 60 - 90 days.
The Department of Veterans Affairs will furnish, upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone to deceased, eligible veterans in any cemetery. Scroll down until you see: How do I apply for a memorial item? Clark Memorials finds most people choose the flat bronze grave marker. It can be used as the headstone or footstone.
Headstones remember the dead by honoring life. That is why tombstones typically feature names, family relationships, dates of birth and death - to make it clear to all who come after that here lies a person who lived, who loved, and who matters to those left behind. The most personal gravestone memorials also include a little something more, a favorite quote perhaps, or a symbol reflecting an affinity the deceased had.

All of our family have moved away from the area. Recently, while visiting the cemetery, we noted one monument and three marks were in need of repair. After prayer, I started searching for a monument company in the area and was impressed to contact Clark Memorials of Alabama.
I worked directly with Chase Tourney. He promptly reviewed the pictures I sent him and directions and searched and located all of the stones. This saved us fees. He consulted with his grandfather and together they concurred on which stones were okay and which stones needed attention. Their assessment was the same as ours and

I ordered a headstone from them last June. Paid 1/2 down at that time. They told me 3 to 5 months. 5 months was November. Then they sent me email b4 Thanksgiving to pay in full asap so they could deliver my husband's headstone. It's now almost Christmas and many phone calls and many different stories...they still haven't delivered headstone.
Nice way to take advantage of a widow!

Sharing my experience with Clark Memorials. Our salesman was terrific. He was older. He told me from the start that it was going to take some time because of Covid. It took about 13 weeks to get my mother's head stone and was worth the wait! My family and I are very pleased. Thank You Clark Memorials!!

I wouldn't recommend this company at all. They don't care about the customers and the grief we are going through. I called four times before I finally talked to someone about adding the death date for my mom and they said I would be notified when it was completed...never notified. If I hadn't went to the cemetery I wouldn't have know it was completed. That's horrible for a business to lie and rather heartless knowing a loved one is waiting on an update about the completion of something that's important for a lost loved one and you've paid for it too. Unacceptable.

Words cannot express how disappointed I am. I was reassured several times over several months that my mother’s headstone would be delivered and placed before Mother’s Day. Even up to 3 days before, they lied and told me they were placing the headstone down. Needless to say, it didn’t happen. I was saddened that I wouldn’t get the closure of giving my mother her “last” gift for Mother’s Day. And all Clark Memorials said was “we’re sorry”. Unprofessional and unacceptable!!
