Galena Engineering, Inc. was established in 1978 in Ketchum, Idaho by Richard Fosbury and Jim Koonce. In 1996 an additional office was added in Hailey, Idaho. The purpose of the firm is to provide innovative Consulting Engineering and Land Surveying Services to individuals, organizations, communities, and public agencies in the rural areas of Central and Southern Idaho.

Our utility engineering services include potable water systems, wastewater systems, irrigation systems, underground utility planning, storm water systems, and much more. We prepare designs and guide our projects through all phases of the planning, regulatory, and construction phases.
Our guidance includes interpretation and application of local ordinances, coordination with county, city, state or federal regulatory agencies, coordination with the local utility companies, and other services as needed by our clients.In addition to design and construction we also prepare support materials such as Facility Planning Studies, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, pressurized network analysis, and Asbuilt Surveys.

Sean is the principal of the firm and has over 20 years of civil engineering experience. His experience with Galena Engineering consists of work for municipal, county, industrial and private clients on a broad range of projects.

Our firm has full computer design and drafting capability with modern computer stations, for engineering design/drafting work. A variety of software packages are also available to fully utilize these computer systems. These software systems are critical in providing our clients with the utmost in efficiency and productivity during the development of design plans, reports, and full contract documents.

Galena Engineering Inc. specializes in Professional Land Surveying for clients throughout southern Idaho. This surveying includes all tasks recognized by the State of Idaho as being encompassed within the land surveying profession, and specifically includes the determination of land boundaries and the preparation of plats or subdivisions thereof.
