Services
There is no better connection than one made around the table, clinking glasses, passing bread, sharing stories. Dining at The Landing is more than a restaurant, it's the dining room of our hotel-home where guests and locals gather to eat, drink and unwind. Whether you are looking for a quiet, relaxing evening or a special occasion, make it a meal you won't forget with adventurous appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks.
The rooms at The Landing are simple but detailed and highly functional. There's a modern-rustic vibe to the decor, from the original shiplap to the subway tiles in our private en-suite bathrooms. Our 200-square-foot Standard Queen is cozy and compact, and tastefully designed with our modern/vintage fixtures and furnishings - including a comfortable queen bed, appointed with warm duvets, plush pillows and quality linens and writing desk.
We strive to provide our guests with an exceptionally clean, safe, and friendly hotel experience. The following Hotel Policies / House Rules have been established based on industry standards, management and operational procedures. These Hotel Policies / House Rules are considered a part of our reservation agreement with you.
Visitors will find the city of La Grande a home away from home and feel like a local with every stay. Our small town offers big opportunities for great food, historic homes, and beautiful scenery. The Landing is located downtown within walking distance of the beautiful Eastern Oregon University campus, host to sporting events and performing arts year-round.

This was the first trip I've taken since the beginning of the pandemic and was so excited to stay here. The rooms are beautifully appointed (other than the glass doors on the bathroom that allow for no privacy) but, unfortunately, there were other things about our stay that made it impossible to enjoy. When we walked in, only one of the four people on staff were wearing masks, so the business is clearly not abiding by Covid protocols or Oregon law, as an earlier reviewer also mentioned. As a result, I didn't feel comfortable eating any meals there. Also, the room was heated to about 75 degrees

We just woke up from a wonderful night sleep and are enjoying a cup of coffee in the downstairs restaurant. This place is an oasis on our trip from Salt Lake City to Seattle. The drive today will be easy after our stay here. We booked directly with The Landing Hotel, rather than give Expedia the 50% commission they charge the family owned hotel.

My problem is not with the business itself but rather the owner. I only spent a total of twenty minutes in this place and was baffled by how the owner treated his staff and how full of himself he was. He treated the staff as if they were insignificant and bellow him. Secondly, he is completely engrossed by himself and his work and is completely lacking self-responsibility for any problems that go on in the restaurant, everything that goes awry is the doing of another person. That being said I would strongly encourage you to weigh your options before spending your time or money here.

OMG. This is the best restaurant in La Grande. Great for date night or a special occasion. Might even dress up a little. Great crab cakes. Seafood specials are amazing. And save room for dessert for all their homemade masterpieces and interesting ice cream flavors. Go online for the daily chalkboard specials as that list is bigger than the regular menu.
