In 1977, Jim and Jeanna Rard started a new boat yard, Marine Servicenter, in a little shop in Seattle. Over the years, the business expanded to include new and used yacht sales, yacht dry storage, and a marine store. In 2020, after 43 years in the boatyard business, Jim and Jeanna sold the boatyard portion of Marine Servicenter, in order to concentrate on new and used yacht sales.
The Seattle dealership is located on Westlake Avenue on Lake Union, in a fantastic new building with its own moorage basin out the back door. Ironically, this is the exact location where Jim and Jeanna started the company nearly 40 years ago! The Anacortes facilities were in operation for over 26 years.

Jim Rard and Patrick Harrigan transported my boat from LaConner to Anacortes. While on board, the engine overheated and they continued without calling for vessel assist or pulling over. They destroyed my boats engine. Then they pretended that it never happened. I never got a call from Jim acknowledging what happened while he was on board. Patrick refused to turn the claim into his insurance company. The entire engine had to be rebuilt before I could sell my Valiant 40. Steer clear of these people and this company unless you want to deal people who will treat you this way.
