A delightful surprise! Our server Valerie was friendly prompt with service and appreciated her recommendations. Hot Brown and Beet salad very tasty as was the corn chowder and deep fried deviled eggs! So glad we stopped here

A historic hotel not too far from 75. My cousin recommended we stay here as she as her husband had enjoyed it. We recommend it, as well. Nice sized rooms with wood furniture. Beautiful porch. Friendly and helpful staff, even with a wedding going on as a we arrived! Reasonably priced, too! Cute downtown area with shops sponsored by the local college, as is the hotel. Love the whole concept and loved supporting it.
We ate in the hotel restaurant for dinner. It was challenging to find healthy food choices, as I eat gluten-free and dairy-free. Although, our waitress was helpful and accommodating.

Quaint historic inn with lots of character. A great value. A welcome change of pace from chain hotel off the interstate.
We ate at the Daniel Boone Tavern and recommend it. Be prepared for a sit down dinner in white tablecloths and chandeliers not a "tavern." The menu has changed and they offer seasonal specials. Portions are smaller so you can splurge on appetizers or save room for dessert. I had the crab stuffed mushrooms appetizer and my husband had the chocolate cake for dessert. We both had dinner entrees. It was the Christmas holiday during Covid so staffing was light but everyone was friendly

Stopped by just to see this historic inn decorated for the holiday and it didn't disappoint. It's beautiful. Can't wait to stay here someday. The staff were so friendly. The building is stunning.

Great room but for breakfast don't order over easy eggs. The chef doesn't know how to cook them. At dinner the food was not hot. I think the warmers may be broken. Spinach salad had no beets as promised. Keep the menu and have the kitchen staff be accountable.

We used their "Robinson" room for a family gathering and luncheon over the holidays. The communication and preparations leading up to the event was timely and professional. The service and food was just excellent. The attention level was just right, allowing us to have the visit we were hoping for, and they never "hurried" us along to wrap it up. This was our first time to visit this establishment, but it will be high on our list for considerations in the future. All in our party would give a hearty thumbs up to Boone Tavern.

Thank you.

We had a party of 12, our food came out in separate intervals, at least 10 minutes from start to finish. I ordered shrimp and grits, they were cold. About the best compliment I heard was, the burger was good. It's a cool place to visit, sorta pricey and definitely a slower pace for service
A little over an hour from the time we ordered until the food arrived.

The room here was beautiful and comfortable. Skip the dining room, though. I had salmon and my husband had spring chicken. It is generous to say he got six bites of chicken. My salmon and his chicken were good, but the rice and vegetables were utterly tasteless. It is fairly pricey for what you get.

What a perfect dining experience! We ordered the lamb chops and a kilt salad with the appetizer fries. My husband and I always share our meal. The food was delicious, the ambiance was perfect; just casual enough. Our server, Dez, was professional, attentive and charismatic. This hotel is charming.

Not what I expected- guess it would be ok if you were expecting a formal dining experience with white table cloths- the name threw us off- may try it sometime when I am dressed up. It says casual, but I would say you would be more comfortable in work casual. I was looking forward to seeing a historic ornamental bar but wouldn't go past the entrance because it looks very gourmet. Beautiful historical pictures and the building is beautiful.

Booked this place for a quiet romantic weekend getaway to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Loud music reached all the way up to our third floor room all evening, ruining the experience.

Fine dining in a historic site. Dining room is very simple and elegant, but not over the top. Not joke...the French fries appetizer with truffle mayo...the best fries I've ever eaten! Golden crispy, fresh tasting, wonderfully seasoned, and the truffle mayo was so rich and delicious! (Rest of the meal was good too but the fries won the day!) Friendly servers, quiet and refined atmosphere, and delicious food.

Boone Tavern is a famous historic Berea College landmark. When I first moved to the area I was told about the famous Spoon Bread. I had never heard of such a bread. Naturally this hotel restaurant became the place for all my special occasion dinners during the time I lived there. When I return to visit eating a meal here is a must. The menu has plenty of choices I can enjoy. The food is prepared to order. All ingredients are fresh and as far as I know local sourced. I've never had a meal I didn't enjoy.

Boone Tavern is definitely a beautiful setting to celebrate a birthday or just enjoying

Let me start by saying I am more apt to send a good review then a bad one. My husband and I rate our hotels by saying "it isn't Disney" My gold standard. We have driven by the signs on the highway for years for the Boone Tavern but we are aways on the way here or there and never had the opportunity to stop. We are on our way to a wedding in Tennessee and had the chance to stop. The college town is quaint, the hotel beautiful. Our room was fine, except for the wet carpet. We brought it to the attention of the front desk who checked it out while we were out to dinner. They

Not impressed one bit. The historic hotel was pretty but otherwise nothing here was impressive. It really stinks when you spend a good amount of money on a meal only to be so disappointed.

We ordered two lunch meals and had water to drink and walked away spending like $40. If the food was good, that would have been a different story. We started with spoon bread - so bland. I ordered the Mac and cheese with pulled pork. It did get a little better as it sat a short time but still not very good! Especially for $21 - wowza! Hubby ordered the grilled chicken club sandwich. It had good taste but the

On our first visit to Boone Tavern and restaurant several years ago we were very disappointed with our meal. Last week we had a totally different experience. The food was prepared farm to table and was fresh and tasty. The chicken salad croissant was excellent. The hot brown was prepared traditionally and had great flavor and satisfying.

I would recommend if you have not been in a few years to certainly try the restaurant out. The complementary spoon bread was delightful. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and was very pleasant to us.

I was not fortunate to reserve a seat for dinner during my stay, but the hotel accommodations were great. The shower was warm with good water pressure. Room temperature was good, bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and made me feel welcome right away. And their coffee was deliciously robust.

We stopped in for an overnight on our drive home after a week on the East Coast. Was quoted 119 for Bed and Breakfast but charged 129, was able to get the 10$ back when checking out! Our evening meal was ok but sure didn't care for their famous spoon bread! Our breakfast server was very sweet and did a wonderful job, however, her white mask was so filthy it was disgusting!!! Then after getting over the shock of her filthy mask her shirt was also dirty! They should supply their front line servers with a clean mask everyday!!
The room was very clean but with a roaring heating unit and corner

My boyfriend got the filet mignon and I got the hot brown. His filet was a bit dry and for the price of the dish, I personally didn't think it was worth it. My hot brown tasted pretty good. The bread that they used for it was just regular white, thin bread and didn't have enough of the meat toppings in my opinion but it was still decent. (Still does not beat the hot brown from Ricardos in Versailles) Overall, we both had an okay time but will not be returning due to the food not being worth the price they are asking for. I guess since it's a hotel restaurant they jack up the prices

I had been looking forward to brunch here for weeks! Arrived at the Tavern/Hotel,it was spooky quiet. (Parking lot empty etc.) Arrived 15 minutes early for a 10:30 brunch reservation. Dining room had only one table already seated and Porch/patio was empty. Made us wait in the lobby. Nice lobby, so no worry. Returned a little after 10:30 and the maƮtre d' confirmed my reservation, fumbled, dug under the podium, tapped into his computer for a wierd amount of time. Not accommodating us at all, really. Finally we asked to be seated outdoors (Covid-19). He agreed. Porch obviously was

We had a really lovely dinner here on the patio. We havent been dining indoors anywhere due to COVID, so we liked that we could reserve patio seating. Our hostess and server were incredibly friendly. We each got a salad (both SO good) and had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, which I highly recommend. For dinner, we shared the cauliflower etouffee. It was good, but probably the least exciting part of the meal. The patio is gorgeous with all kinds of flowers and ferns, so we loved the atmosphere as well!

You want the good news or the bad news? Actually they are the same...they serve alcohol now. Finally. But they closed the gift shop to turn it into a small bar and they serve you in the lobby of the hotel. And there are dirty glasses and loud conservations yelling over the piano player. It just feels wrong...serve it in the restaurant and the bar but keep it out of the lobby.

There's a new chef in town and while it pains me to say it but the food just isn't as good as it always has been. And it sure isn't cheap to dine here...2 drinks, a shared appetizer, 2 entrees and a shared
