As one of the original hotels in Sheridan, WY, constructed in 1892, the Sheridan Inn Hotel was conceptualized and developed by William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody. As part owner, "Buffalo Bill" directed hotel management, and even auditioned new members for his touring company show from the front porch. Each of the twenty-two rooms have been revitalized to reflect on "Buffalo Bill" and twenty-one other key characters in his life.
Each suite presents the times and histories of these people in the furnishings, art, and artifacts, making the Sheridan Inn one of the most unique hotels in Sheridan, WY. You may recognize these characters as icons of the American West, and see how they have shaped the frontier to what it is today.

The Sheridan Inn's significance in our nation's history lies primarily in its direct connection with William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody, who developed and sold the concept of the Inn to the railroad. As part owner, he directed hotel management, and even auditioned new members for his touring company the "Wild West" show from the front porch.
Besides the wonderful western atmosphere, the Historic Sheridan Inn offers the following amenities:. We love our pets and although we do not allow our furry friends to stay with us here at the Sheridan Inn, we do work with the Country Pet Inn, a hotel for dogs. The Country Pet Inn has been providing professional boarding since 1997 and pride themselves on delivering the highest quality canine care available for their guests.
Nestled between modern romance and nostalgic charm, the Sheridan Inn is the place to ignite your Old West passion. French doors open onto the Inn's majestic front porch where guests can stroll amid breath-taking views of the Big Horn Mountains. A soft mountain breeze ruffles the lace curtains in the Ballroom on cool summer evenings, while a crackling wood fire in the river rock fireplace warms the winter nights.
The Historic Sheridan in Wyoming is a premier venue for your next event. Whether it be a business luncheon, a family reunion, or a special dinner, the ambience and history of the Sheridan Inn will make it an occasion you will never forget. Although we currently do not provide onsite catering or bar service, our trusted partnerships with local vendors have served our guests well in offerings from intimate dinners to elaborate plated meals.

First I received a call today at 2:30 pm asking us when we were going to arrive because they wanted to close early. This stressed me out and I felt like we were in a rush to get there, which was also disappointing bc I was counting on relaxing at the restaurant. Then both
major highways ended up closing and the detour had us arriving around 1am and they wouldn’t even give us a partial refund even though they weren’t even going to be open when we arrived.

5 stars, easy! This historic hotel is an absolute gem. Reasonable rates and an unbeatable complimentary breakfast. The bathroom with the claw foot tub was like something out of a 5-star spa. Had a wonderful soak. Each room is dedicated to a different historical figure in Buffalo Bill’s life, and we were impressed by the nuanced historical interpretation included in each room.

What a wonderful place! Enjoyed every aspect of our stay, from what seemed to be a recent restoration of the historic porch, lobby, and room to the breakfast (and typically, a free breakfast isn’t going to be so great). In the room, the bathroom was spectacularly clean with beautiful black and white tiles and a (brand new?) clawfoot tub. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable, and I always love to see a great Pendleton throw. Couldn’t open the historic windows, but the AC was strong. In the morning, breakfast starting as early as 6 in the historic bar area was convenient, and wow - the

I have a positive and a negative review for the Sheridan Inn. First the positive: The hotel was lovely. Our room was huge. The decor was very well done & the bed was so comfy. My husband and I both slept so… well & thought the hotel room & bathroom deserved a 10 out of 10. We loved the hotel and thought the renovation of it was outstanding. Now the negative: When we checked in the girl at the desk didn’t speak or smile. She didn’t say welcome or even acknowledge us. I said we were checking in, she asked our name and that was the end of our conversation. ZERO personality

Just wanted to say what a HORRIBLE experience we just had at the Sheridan Inn. The GM Tammy threatened to fire the front desk employee in front of us and essentially kicked us out as well for wanting to see the historic inn. She is absolutely scaring away tourists, which if I’m not mistaken, is why the Inn is kept in such pristine condition in the… first place. My father worked there in the 80s and wanted to tell the legends of Miss Kate and the gun slingers to the grandkids who all came from Chicago. She was disgustingly rude to us and the little ones with us. I have also posted this

Wow, just wow! I’ve stayed in hotels all over the world, and this hotel is hands down the most memorable. If you have a love for historic buildings, you will love this hotel. The new owners restored the building so beautifully, so everything is fresh, clean and…just perfect, but the historic elements are all in tact. The attention to historic… detail is absolutely over the top! The comfort of staying in a new age hotel, but the charm of a historic Inn. The historic photos that line the walls, the beautifully detailed history portfolios placed all around the hotel provide so

Do not stay at the Sheridan Inn. I do NOT recommend The Sheridan Inn. My now, husband and I, were planning on having our wedding here last year. The owner was never available to take our calls when we had… questions and to get our problems resolved. When she was able to take our calls, she was rude and seemed annoyed by arranging plans for us. I am thankful that we decided not to have our wedding here, it would have been a mistake.

We have have fun when we visited the Sheridan inn! Tours of the inn and also point out areas where there have been ghost sightings at the inn. Buffalo Bill often and was responsible for building the inn. He wanted to have the most magnificent hotel in the West! He stayed at the inn when he came to Sheridan, Wyoming. The bar was brought in from England and is still there today!

The Inn itself is neat and the rooms are done well. Cool to visit.
Our room was nice but right on 2 roads with lots of traffic and a train that was stopped loudly in front of the hotel around 6 am. The guests in the room next to us talked until past midnight loudly and we could hear every word they said followed by loud snoring starting at 1 am. Terrible night of sleep. Sadly I messaged both of the night staff around 11:30 to see if there was anything we could do (we were given the numbers upon check in as no one was there overnight) and no one replied or ever said anything about our issues.

A historic hotel in downtown. Close to a number of restaurants, which was fortunate as their's was closed. Lots of western art and books set around to look at. Not real convenient for those needing a wheelchair as the ramp was on the opposite end of the building from the one door you can enter. Close to the tracks and even thought the trains do not use their airhorn, they make enough noise to wake a light sleeper. (Heavier insulated curtains may help.) An old building with a lot of creaking floors and vibrations, they could pass it off as haunted. A great place for the history minded

A wonderful hotel, and especially as a historic hotel! A local actually told us it had been recently renovated, so I don't know what it was like before, but it was fantastic. The hotel still has all the right feel of history but with the subtle, elegant updates that fit and add the right amount of modern comfort. The bed was SUPER comfortable, There were nice upscale touches like water bottles in the room and chocolate chip scones. There is a nice set up for a continental breakfast in the morning in the Lady's parlor which has the feel of a movie set..but you can actually enjoy eating

We ended up here by accident in transit - looking after a hotel!
Already when entering the lobby, we knew that it would be nice to stay here. We were but more overwhelmed by the room, we get a dream of nostalgia have combined with modern facilities and convenience, plus the attention to detail! After making fresh, we are in the restaurant, at the bar, since all the tables were occupied - always a good sign! Very fine American cuisine, class cocktails and enought staff...! You can highly recommend this House! Perfect!

Decent food, but a more of a tourist trap. The Inn has been wonderfully restored and redone, but the restaurant's food was still a little shaky. Their bacon is a very strange super-peppery bacon that detracts from the meal ( I wanted the Bison Burger, not strange super-peppery bacon with a side of bison burger). I'm sure they will improve with the time, and the manager on duty was super responsive and helpful, so kudos!

Last weekend was my first visit to Sheridan. I absolutely loved the town and this hotel. The main areas of the hotel are decorated with antiques and several beautiful stone fireplaces. The restaurant and bar were gorgeous and the food was very good. The guest rooms are also lovely and comfortable with nicely finished bathrooms.
The hotel is in walking distance of Main Street with so many shops, restaurants and bars it will take several more visits to see them all. I'm pretty sure this hotel spoiled any chance of me staying anywhere else in Sheridan - unless it's booked up the next time
