Carl was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1975 where he worked as a Nuclear Welder and Nuclear Planner until his commissioning through the Limited Duty Officer program in 1986. He served in various positions as a Maintenance Officer, Planning Officer, and Damage Control/Engineering Officer on several ships and shore commands.
AIT provides full-service Habitability services to improve the quality of shipboard life for crews of both US Navy and commercial ships. We specialize and provide major upgrades to troop berthing compartments, troop sanitary spaces, ventilation systems, galley restoration, mess deck restoration, scullery overhead restoration, and self-service laundry installations.
We offer complete welding services and support clients in a variety of industries, all of whom share similar challenges in meeting quality, safety, and compliance requirements. We provide highly qualified and experienced personnel who understand the processes involved in the supply chain and the frequent need for quick turnaround times.
AIT has extensive experience in conducting over 30 types of alterations of varying degrees of difficulty on multiple classes of submarines. Representative projects include work on Propulsion Lube Oil Systems, Weapons Delivery Systems, Ship Service and Steering & Diving Hydraulic Systems, Air Induction/Diesel Exhaust, P-1 Piping Systems, Ventilation System, Trim & Drain System, High Pressure Drain System, and Sonar/Fire Control Suite Systems.
