In 1948, European immigrant Samuel Miller bought a 1937 Ford truck with an open box on it and started a one-man garbage route in Portland. From that simple act of entrepreneurial ingenuity a family legacy was born; one that has been carried on for three subsequent generations.

Samuel's son, Arnie, moved to Eugene in 1979 to take over Apex Disposal Service, he built it up, and then passed it on to his son, Sam, whose own son, Connor, is planning to expand his role at Apex after graduating from college.Together at Apex Recycling & Disposal, Sam and Connor carry on the family tradition that Samuel Miller Sr. started seven decades ago.

From getting to know your billing options to understand proper cart placement and everything in between, we know it can be a lot to take in - especially if you're a new customer. You can arrange to have your billing drafted directly from your checking or savings account by signing up on our payment website with your account code found on your statement or you can call our office.
When we talk about caring for the community we live in and the people we serve, you can bet our employees are included in that. In fact, we consider them an extension of our own family. On average, our employees work with us for eight years and almost a third of our staff have been with us for ten years or more.
With our curbside collection services, both you and the environment will breathe a little easier! We'll stop by your home every week to pick up your trash and recycling. Simply select a roll cart size - 35-, 65- or 95-gallon - and give us a call. If you live in Eugene, we'll also stop by and empty your 65-gallon yard debris roll cart every other week.

Recycling saves energy because the manufacturer doesn't have to produce something new from raw natural resources. When energy consumption goes down, production costs go down. Savings are passed on to the consumer, and when recycled products are purchased, a demand for more recycled goods is promoted.

Just a bad local business who Sue's poor people in the Eugene community!
Just take a look at the most recent reviews... This company has gone downhill since the beginning of the pandemic.
Do you enjoy not being able to garnish my wages, Sam?? You wasted your money because I'm actually poor, #DUH!

This company truly lacks the value of customer service. I live up in the south hills and during this during this snow we got around Christmas their truck couldn't make it up here. I understand that for safety of their drivers and for pedestrians and whatever that they don't make an attempt to come up the hills, even though fed ex and UPS were able to after the roads were plowed. Fast forward, yard debris, garbage and recycling weren't picked up so I assumed they would do the route the following week so I left everything out for them. They collected everything but the yard debris

Updated review. Document every interaction you have with this company. On two different occasions I spoke to someone at their office was told my account was on a payment plan and my cans would be picked up after they weren't, my cans were not picked up and my account was charged a restart fee. The office staff doesn't note accounts, calls conveniently aren't recorded even though it's obvious this company has issues honoring what their office staff say.
I used to have nothing but good things to say about Apex unfortunately that isn't the case anymore. I was very surprised to see a 30 dollar restart

One of their drivers hit my brand new vehicle while parked on a residential street and fled the accident scene. That happened almost three months ago and I'm still trying to get this settled. Since day one I've been struggling to get Apex and/or their insurance company to maintain consistent communication with me about properly getting proper compensation for their negligence. Recently they have completely stopped communicating with me and going on several consecutive days without a response.

They repeatedly do not take all of my trash yet when the lid is not closed all the way because of a little extra trash they charge me MORE!!
This week they did not even take my recyclables OR my yard debris when I called they said it would have to wait till next week for the yard debris.
I wonder if they would like me to say that when my bill is due!!
Maybe SANIPAC would do a better job!!

We use Apex as our residential providers and they are consistent, friendly, accommodating, and excellent in their service. They really connect with and care about their customers! As a non-profit leader in this community, Apex has donated their service time and time again to us for various service projects that involve a lot of recycling take away. They donate dumpsters, and replace them in a moments notice during our outreach projects. They often involve their ENTIRE office in outreach events like packing and distributing over 1,000 Thanksgiving Meals! Truly THIS company invests in Lane County

So the owner thinks that it's appropriate to come on Google and lie about what they did in suing my family... And then have my reviews removed from Google.
A respectful and professional business owner would attempt to contact the person making negative reviews... You haven't replied to any of my comments on here and you haven't attempted to call my cell phone.
Are you seriously going to tell me that Lane Apex is going to go out of business over $200 bucks... You really need that money so bad that you need to take food out of my children's mouths??!!!

I use Lane Apex as my weekly garbage service in the South Hills in Eugene, Oregon. The thing that impresses me the most are the drivers and their helpful and friendly attitudes. I am personally blessed with Mark, a long time driver. Extremely kind and helpful. I am an above knee amputee and Mark and others heve come to my rescue on numerous occasions! Thank you Lane Apex and and especially thank you to their great drivers and employees!!

I have been using Apex for a while and have had no issues with the service. I needed an extra can for my yard waste and they had it dropped off right away. It was nice to actually set this up over email as I work nights and typically dont have time during the day to sit on the phone. It would be nice to see yard waste picked up weekly but thats not really a standard here haha

They gave me a broken recycling container day one, they never replaced it. The amount of ridiculous rules they have are unrealistic, the online services are unreliable and the customer service is THE WORST. Switching to Sanipac asap.

The home garbage, recycle and yard waste removal is very good. The Billing Department on the other hand has ongoing issues that do not get resolved. Just received the monthly invoice by mail on 7/19/2021 with a due date of 7/10/2021 paid electronically by mail the day received. In a short while we will get phone call notifying use the payment is due. The say not to worry; we don’t, they should. This cycle has been going on for some time. This should be an easy fix Apex Billing Dept. Just please take some action.

Critical: Quality, Responsiveness
The single reason I overlooked their freqent failure to empty trash can and several time just not empty it is they allowed auto pay without having to go to a web page. Apparently now you do and prior auto payments has been canceled. Guess if the one reason I was with Apex is gone I am too.

Don't waste your time! I called them to pick up a lawnmower that quit working. They said they would pick it up and dispose of it for $30.00, as long as the oil and gas was drained. I emptied the gas and oil as instructed and placed the lawnmower on the grass as instructed. I came home from work and the damn thing was still sitting there. I called them and the receptionist told me she tried to call my number and my number was not in service..I've had the same number for over 10 years and called her on it. She told me my lawnmower was full of gas and oil, and the guy couldn't dispose

I really wish their were other services out there for garbage pick up. These drivers drive down the street not caring if your getting ready to back up or getting ready to turn. I guess bigger the truck means they own the road. The drivers literally throw anything that's not recyclable on the ground. (Makes a lot of sense) then toss the recycling bins on the ground, our bin is cracked in five places and half the time the bin is still full. I can't believe these people work for sanitary services. I just set up for pickup service at our new home, so as of yet, my review is only based the customer service I've experienced so far and not the actual service.
That said, Lane Apex has made a great initial impression! I called their office twice, speaking with two different reps (Annie and Taylor) to first get info and pricing, and then to set up my new account. Each person was extremely helpful, pleasant to talk to and competent--something you don't always get with companies like this. Our new bins will be dropped off within one business day, much faster than expected!

I appreciate the fact that there is an alternative service to WASTE MANAGEMENT which is what I've been subjected to for years in Florida.

I'm not who usually complains

So far, this company has been a real pleasure to deal with! Everyone I've spoken with has been very eager to help, and when I've needed extra service, it was easy to request and taken care of quickly. I love being able to talk to actual humans without "listening closely as our menu options have changed" and then pressing 100 buttons!

My experience with Lane Apex has been great since day one. Customer service is superb, Jenny always answers my questions in a friendly and positive way and makes sure that any problems (which are rare) are resolved right away. You can change your plan easily if your needs change, and that has been very helpful as well. Good company, reliable service, easy to talk to, highly recommend.

So much better than their competition and a locally owned small business to boot. When I needed trash service, I contacted both companies. Lane-Apex sent somebody by and figured out exactly what I needed, was very flexible and had a great rate. Sanipac never even got back to us. Ever... We're happy with the service, the drivers go the extra mile when needed, as well. A+

I thought a local company would take some pride in their service, but I assume this is not the case with Lane/Apex. I have have at this time only had service with them for six weeks; four of those weeks either the trash or recycling wasn't picked up. Yes it is true that you can speak to someone most of the time during business hours about being missed, but when your "scheduled" pick up is on a Friday, what do you do, leave your cans is the street all weekend? Maybe I should call the day before pickup to remind them that I have paid in advance for their service.

A+ customer service.

I did not move the bins to the curb as I thought it was a holiday and they won't pick up. It was way past the pick up time when I realized my mistake. I go outside the house and I see my bin is on the curb without any trash inside. The only explanation I can think of is that the garbage truck driver stopped and emptied my bin even if it was not on the curb!

I just moved into a house that requires that I pay my own garbage bill. I wasn't sure who to go through, I heard two bad things about sanipac and that both of those people switched to Lane Apex so I decided to go for it. I had no idea what was even required in setting it up. Do I buy a trash can? Do I rent it? Whomever I talked to earlier today, I didn't catch her name, she was so amazing. Very nice, and helpful didn't treat me like I was an idiot for not knowing how it worked. Quickly took all of my information, informed me of my options for paying. changing sizes of cans, and

Unlike those disatisfied customers, we love this company. Pickup has been missed a couple of times over the past decades of service but they have picked up the next day with no problem and no ectra fee. Sanipac is the company that leaves trash on the ground that ends up blowing all over the street and doesn't even make sure the bins are completely empty. Sanipac wouldn't get out of the truck for any reason but Lane Apex has no problem doing what needs to be done to get the job done right. Excellent service and we plan to be with them for many years.

RIPOFF ALERT **Warning** If you pay for service, and they pass you up on garbage day, they will gladly charge you ~$8 to pick it up the next day.

Customer-no-service is worthless. Spoke with 'Jeni". When I asked for her supervisor she told me the customer service supervisor "jack" is rarely in the office, then refused to connect me to his voicemail, refused to give me a direct phone number to reach him, then refused to give me his email address!

Suggestion: Dear "Jack", you really should spend a little time in the office. This was a very simple issue to resolve

I love Lane Apex! You can call about an issue, and you immediately get to talk to a human!

I'm on a weekly schedule, and the one time there was a pickup issue (the yard waste & recycling got picked up, but not the trash), I was able to call the next morning & they re-dispatched the trash truck to fix the pickup issue. :)

I'm a very satisfied customer, and love doing business with a local family-owned business.
