Services
Red Caboose fosters a sense of community among children, their families, and staff, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion. We provide excellent education, nutrition, and play-based learning for children in a nurturing, safe environment emphasizing healthy social-emotional development. Red Caboose is the oldest independent child care center in Madison.
I am a Red Caboose parent of two children, a daughter in the preschool program, and son who has participated in the school age program. In my professional life, I work with the US Geological Survey as a Senior Developer and Solutions Architect. In my free time, I enjoy reading, getting outdoors to hike and canoe, and attempting to become a decent cook.
It is so bitter sweet to have (my child) graduate from the center and move on to Kindergarten. Sweet because it is wonderful to see her growing up into such a caring, fun, smart, strong person, and bitter because all of those qualities were so nurtured at Red Caboose. We wanted to thank you for the many years (we think 10) you spent with our kids and for the caring services that you provided.

Red Caboose has exceeded our expectations of a good and loving daycare. I was very nervous to send my 18 month old to a daycare after her staying at home for a year and half. We also had a bad experience with a previous daycare that made us weary of all daycares. Red Caboose welcomed us, our questions, and anxieties with such loving arms. We were very worried about the transition, but Red Caboose and their staff made it so easy to not worry. My daughter will now go into daycare without even looking back let alone saying goodbye. She loves her teachers and is thriving as a toddler. She entered daycare

My daughter wasn't doing well before we got into Red Caboose, and now that she's in the loving care of the experienced staff, she's doing so much better. More social. More outgoing. Eats better. Communicates better. I love that they truly _get_ what play-based learning is all about. Community, too. They're partners in caring for and raising my child. I trust Red Caboose, and wouldn't want to send my child anywhere else.

The staff in each room, as well as the "management", and the "chef", are loaded with experience. They provided a safe, loving, fun atmosphere for our children. This was a great place for our kids to start out getting more "socialized", and proved to be a nice place for us to meet and become friends with other like-minded parents.
They also run an afterschool program which is reputedly great, but we didn't have experience with them.
