I cannot say enough great things about the Iversen Inn and it's owner Mr. Dan...we were recently traveling cross country from WA to GA when our truck broke down in Murdo South Dakota. Mr. Dan went above and beyond in accommodating us for the duration of the needed stay while we had the truck repaired. It was truly like having a home away from home, very comfortable and clean. And most importantly, safe and affordable. Definitely stay here if you are looking for accommodations while traveling or staying in or near Murdo, South Dakota. And tell Mr. Dan I said "Hey!"

At first this place seemed like a good place to stay, the manager seemed nice up until I told him I had a service dog. Then everything changed he went from having a room to saying nothing was available after all. I tried to explain that he couldn't discriminate against a service dog, but he told me he didn't have a pet room available. This is also against the federal ADA. I really like supporting small hotels like this, but this manager was out of line.

I would call this an original roadside motel left over from the 50's. It was small and definitely old, but a decent upgrade had been done. It was very clean and a safe place to stay and that is a big load off your shoulders when travelling. The water was dangerously hot, but we were warned in advance. The beds were not so great, but sleepable. The owner, Dan, was very nice and helpful and told us where to eat. There were some construction workers living there due to nearby construction and they were also very nice.

Honest place. Incredibly nice owner. Will give you good recommendations. Rooms are dated, but honestly really well kept. He’ll show you the room first and foremost. Sweetest place. Stay here.

Great place to stay. Great service. Very clean. Locally owned.
When I called I believe it was the owner who answered. He said he would wait up for us to get there because the close at 11pm. He was very kind. He cares about his tenants and asked us to stay quite because everyone had already settled down for the night. The room was not large but it was very clean and was exactly what we needed. Water gets hot very fast and you have to be careful not to burn yourself. The owner warned us of this so it wasn't a surprise. Definitely recommend, especially if you want to support local business.

An old fashioned American motel with extra clean, comfortable rooms and the ambience that comes from an owner who cares about his establishment. It was a joy to find l in a world of same design boring rooms from most chain establishments.
The motel doesn't offer a continental breakfast, but the Star Restaurant across the street opens at 7 and makes a great plate of eggs.
Good bed, a TV that works properly and a small coffee pot, refrigerator and microwave were everything we needed to make us comfortable.
