A geothermal heat pump is a central heating and/or cooling system that transfers heat from the ground for heating and to the ground for cooling. It uses the earth as a heat source in the winter and as a heat sink in the summer. This design takes advantage of the constant moderate temperature in the ground to provide heating and cooling at lower operating costs.
Boilers, which are commonly found in residential homes, refer to a unit or a system that heats water to high temperatures, then circulates around the house. Proper upkeep is of the utmost importance, as many things have the potential to go wrong if a boiler isn't adequately maintained. Leaks, limescale, thermostat failure, and limit control differentials are just some of the issues that can arise.

Hubbard's Mechanical seems like a good company. When I contacted them for questions about heating my basement with a mini split they agreed to come out and said the quote was free. Chad and Preston came on Thursday and said another team member would be back on Monday and this person would do some type of calculations needed for the estimate. The following Tuesday, they called to say it would be $500 to do the load calculations, but that would come out of the cost if I went with them. This helped me decide real quick not to use them. I'm disappointed because I feel like they wasted my time. HVAC
