Wife and I sold our townhouse and moved into our first single family home! Enormous thanks to Tom Bregman at Bregman Properties! We would have never gotten a house like this if it weren't for your extreme work ethic, moral compass and friendship! This guy was seriously available 24/7 for anything we needed and extremely knowledgeable about his craft.
DO.provide all documents requested up front and keep all original paystubs, bank statements, tax returns and other financial documentation handy as you receive it. DO.respond promptly to all requests to provide documentation, sign documents, answer questions, etc. DO.be flexible and make yourself available for your home inspection and your closing appointment.
Some real estate agents will say and promise ANYTHING to get you to list your house with them. If you sign a listing agreement and you are not satisfied with the service that you (and your listing) receive, you should be able to CANCEL THAT LISTING AGREEMENT so that you are free to work with a different real estate agent.

I have had the pleasure of working with Tom Bregman twice this year. The first time was when he did an excellent job marketing our Oak Park home which sold for higher than list price. The 2nd time was when he represented me in the purchase of my Westlake Village townhouse. Tom helped us through our first home purchase and is an excellent agent. Buying your first home can be an arduous and challenging experience but with Tom it was fun and he took the stress out of it!
