Environmental Chemistry Consultants Nancy Rothman, PhD and Susan Chapnick, MS of New Environmental Horizons are recognized technical experts in analytical chemistry, quality assurance, data assessment, and data validation of environmental measurements. We are well respected senior chemists with long standing working relationships with NOAA, USEPA, MassDEP, NJDEP, and NYSDEC.

Rothman is currently the Assistant Technical Workgroup Leader for Chemistry and Sampling for NOAA's Natural Resource Damage Assessment of the Deepwater Horizon Gulf Oil Spill. Chapnick is the project Quality Assurance Officer at numerous Superfund sites in New England.

New Environmental Horizons, Inc. (NEH) is an environmental chemistry consulting firm specializing in the planning and evaluation of environmental data to support the assessment and cleanup of contaminated sites. We set project-specific data quality objectives (DQOs) to obtain high-quality data for human health and ecological risk assessments and for use in EPA, USACE, NRDA, and state-led investigations.
NEH is recognized by NOAA, USEPA-NE, US Army Corps of Engineers, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), NJDEP, NYSDEC, risk assessors, engineers, and environmental lawyers for our analytical problem-solving and working pro-actively with the project team. Ms. Chapnick is President and a Principal Scientist of New Environmental Horizons, Inc. (NEH). She has over 25 years of experience in the environmental arena including quality assurance/quality control, regulatory compliance, data usability evaluation, and analytical chemistry (with specialties in trace metals and inorganic analytical techniques).
Dr. Rothman is CEO and a Principal Scientist of NEH (New Environmental Horizons, Inc.) and a recognized expert in organic environmental chemistry. Dr. Rothman has over 25 years of experience in the development of methods, analysis, and data evaluation for semivolatile organic compounds (SVOC), including dioxins/furans and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and volatile organic compounds (VOC).
