I recently moved and had to change vets. After calling a couple and finding out they had no availability until months later I decided to give happy pets a call. They required a $75 new patient fee that I found to be strange (I have never been asked to do something like this before).
A vet much closer to where I live got back to me a few minutes after I had made the appointment at happy pets. It was literally 5 minutes after I made my appointment, but happy pets would not give me back my $75. They never told me the fee was nonrefundable. I honestly feel like they stole from me.
I would think long

My dog bear had a bad ear infection, and the place I usually went to had been shut down due to Hurricane Ida. They were really quick about helping him and gave me clear instructions on how to take care of him afterwards. Would def take him back here in the future!

Took my dog there with an infected tooth. The dog took some antibiotics and we scheduled an extraction of the tooth. Procedure was on a Wednesday but the office canceled on Monday because they were "waiting on a part for the anesthesia?" Waited 3 weeks and NO return call, had to keep calling. Taking business elsewhere,as it's kind of hard to trust that this procedure would go off smoothly. Hard to believe all surgeries and anesthesia were off forever.Hint;Order your parts from Amazon!

This place has been so helpful in keeping my kitties healthy. I've been bringing my kitties here for routine and emergency matters for years, and my gf has followed suit. Staff is extremely responsive, friendly and helpful.
With all that said, I say a big con is the 3.99% "Terminal Fee" applied to your bill if you use card. I've never heard of such a thing at animal hospitals or anywhere else. It's a big pain to have to visit an ATM just to take your kitties for a routine checkup and booster shot.

They wouldn't give me a spay price without seeing my dog. Then wants a whole bunch of other stuff without giving me a price. Then gives me a price of $800 to be spayed!! If they would of given me a reasonable price because I know what the price range is then maybe I would come back. But you can tell this place just wants your money regardless if they are compassionate. My vet in Hopewell charges 1/4 of everything they charged me.. Bye! Do not recommend! I'll never ever come here again! Basically came for a spay quote and walked out paying for things the dog didn't really need. I recommend Hopewell
