Headlines Salon first opened its doors in 1985 by salon owner, Marsha Miller. It was originally located on the north side of Yuba City, where the Yuba City Mall currently resides. In 1994 Marsha purchased the building we are now in and moved her salon to its current location.
In 2004 her daughter and business partner, Kristi Goldby, joined the company and the salon went through its first renovation with the addition of our day spa and became Headlines Salon and Spa.Our second renovation came in the fall of 2016 with a complete update of our styling stations and addition of a fourth treatment room in our spa.

Our mission is to provide each guest with an un paralleled experience from the time you make your reservation until the last moment of your visit. Each guest will receive a thorough consultation, including a price quote, prior to your service along with a service plan for future visits and recommended homecare.
All prices listed are starting at; every service provider at Headlines Salon & Spa works on a level system. The level system accomplishes two main goals. The first is to provide a career path of growth and achievement for our team. The second is to provide several options for your various service needs.

I was wanting to get my hair done and i came across this salon. I called to ask their pricing and the lady who answered the phone basically said if I am asking the prices I don't have enough money to get my hair done there. I would never waste a businesses time by asking about their services if I was not prepared to pay. they act like answering basic questions is a chore just because I was asking about the price does not mean I don't have the money to pay for it. very unprofessional :(

Literally the worst cut and color I've ever had. Overpaid for something I didn't want.
Attached is the picture is the haircut I wanted vs the one I got. Keep in mind I did NOT want blue hair!!
Marissa didn't listen to anything I asked for. I emailed Headlines to discuss what had happened and never got a response so customer service is also lacking.

I just recently moved to the area and needed a hair cut bad. Kelly who was my stylist, did an amazing job. Everyone at the salon was so kind and friendly. The place is beautiful and they offer so many services, one stop shop! I will definitely be coming back.

A huge thanks to Marissa for getting my color absolutely perfect! She is a fantastic stylist and has done hair for both me and my daughter with great results every time! Highly recommend.
As far as massages go, Tracie is fantastic! Super friendly and not only listens to my special needs and requests but has offered wonderful tips and instruction for self care in between massages. Also highly recommend. You guys are great!

I live out of town and go to Headlines when I'm visiting family. I have had my hair done by Marissa & Brittany and LOVED my color results both times. I have long, thick hair and wanted a warmer, darker brown color. They made my hair look so healthy and shiny. Their blowouts/style also lasted 5+ days! (With other stylists, I always come home and immediately wash my hair because it's either flat or the curls fall out. This was not the case with Brittany and Marissa.) Headlines is always so inviting and all of the staff are very friendly. Thank you guys so much! I love my hair color

I just went in yesterday to get my bangs fixed because of the last time that I went there. The lady that did my hair did an exceptional job! And the ladies upfront or very welcoming and kind when you walk in. They ask if you would like water or tea. And they do have sales going on with the Fourth of July coming up. I definitely recommend getting a haircut done by Katie. She's very kind and she asks exactly what you want and she gives you what you want. She does an exceptional job she ask you is there anything else that I can do for you before she finishes up on your hair. If I could give Katie

I recently was approved to have colored hair at work so I was excited and went searching for a new hair place to go since it's been hard to schedule an appointment with anyone. I called and immediately was scheduled with Katie in the next 2 weeks. When it was time for my appointment everyone was very friendly and gave me a tour of the salon with a complimentary goodie bag. This is a late review, I wasn't going to do this as I like to support as many businesses during COVID as possible but I decided that most of the experience was unacceptable so I should share. On January 29th 2021 I had an appointment with Eden for a haircut and possible lightening of my hair. During our consultation the day of the appointment it was discussed that on order to preserve any health I had left of my hair that lightening anytime soon would not be a good idea. I just wanted to express how thankful I am for this amazing staff and company. Going through the fire academy my body needed some work. I was so pleased with the staff and my masseuse. Kristen B did an amazing job lining this up for me. What an outgoing and positive staff member. She has a great personality that makes you feel welcome. Couldn't be more thankful. Tracie my masseuse I would highly recommend and defiantly will be back. She mentioned some great details and things I should work on to prevent injuries and that shows she truly cares. This place is absolutely incredible! I can't think of any other place that could top their customer service and overall friendliness. Amy gave me an amazing massage and we chatted as if we were old friends even though we just met. Everything was explained to me in detail and they were all very attentive. I left feeling great with a big smile on my face. There was no pressure to purchase anything further but I did end up buying a few great products and a gift card for my mom. This place is ridiculously expensive. $150 for one color roots?? Plus the girl ruined my hair. I picked a color very close to my original and she went with one quite a bit lighter. She knew she messed up. It was bad enough that the line was very obvious. Plus she screwed up my haircut, which is going to take awhile to grow out and slowly fix.

I came in to get my hair cut, wash, and style by Marissa and she did an amazing job! I loved how she was such a good listener at what I wanted and gave me a whole new look. I went from long hair to above my shoulder hair length and I don’t regret it one bit. Marissa was super professional and nice!

Do not go to her if you want your hair done balayage. She does not know what she's doing.
She's very unprofessional & I will not be going back to her.
We both agreed on a style & she did the total opposite.
She fried my hair,over cut it to cover the damage, left spotting, gave me highlights I didn't ask for.

Okay, all you people coming up here from San Francisco and other urban places to get your hair and nails done because you can't get it done where you live......stop leaving negative Yelp reviews about the good people at Headlines.
