Challis Area Health Center cares for the whole person and serves as a trusted resource for our community members. Our clinical professionals work together to make sure each patient receives the best care. We strive to create the right environment for quality and affordable primary care services for individuals and families in Central Idaho.

Our staff is dedicated to improving and sustaining the health and well being of our patients. Our goal is to revolutionize health care by offering a place where patients can access primary and behavioral health care in one place. It's convenient, cost effective and will help you reach your health goals.
Services
Challis Idaho is nestled in the heart of The Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness Area, the largest wilderness area in the continental United States. Before the 1940's Challis did not have local medical services and until the 1970's medical care was sporadic. In 1976 North Custer Clinic was established with funds donated by the Marmont and Steele Reese Foundations.
Telehealth visits are available for scheduling with established patients. These visits can be conducted by using Apple FaceTime, Facebook Messenger Video Chat, Google Duo or Skype for our primary care providers and Facebook Messenger Video Chat, Google Duo or Skype for our behavioral health providers.
CAHC provides essential health service to patients regardless of their ability to pay. Discounted fees are available for community members who qualify, depending on income and household size. Discounts apply to all services offered but does not apply to any services performed away from CAHC. Call our office at (208) 879-4351 ext.

Wonderful staff! They took care of my son when he had a severe head injury the other year and I am so thankful for them. Love them as my family's primary care also.

From my personal experiences here, the providers and staff are very accommodating, and caring. I saw Chad Banks for allergies and he was very thorough and addressed all my concerns. I also had to get covid tested here, and the provider was very calming when my test came back positive. A lot shorter wait than my experiences having to go to Salmon.

I have lived in Challis for 31 years. I've always had the best experiences with the Challis Area Health Clinic. Our family is very appreciative to have such a fantastic, professional clinic here in the valley. Great job everyone at the clinic!! And speaking from experience, the EMT crew is awesome!! They were very experienced and extremely caring when we needed a family member taken to the ER in Salmon. Thank you Jon, Lance, and Judy, you're the best!!! And how wonderful is it to have an After Hours call line? The Provider on call, Chad Banks PA, was quick to call us back and give needed support

We are from out of town and had some concerns for one of our kiddos. I called and they were so nice to make a same day appointment for me. They were so helpful, got us what we needed and got medicine.

We are so lucky to have our little clinic. We're happy to see all the great new changes. The addition of the after hours care line, the digital x-rays, and new providers! Thank you!
