The sweet spot for us is the intersection of creativity, usability and business necessity. We know businesses need to make money. Agencies are hired to grow the bottom line. We get hired to make the tools businesses need to look good and help the client to hit their goals. You have a business to run.
Our design philosophy is to expand the possibilities as far as we possibly can and cut out anything that doesn't strengthen the story. The common phrase we use is to have our stories only speak one language. Its the process of refining and rethinking until all that's left is a pure story. A strong brand helps to get things going in the right direction.
Talent is hard to come by. We don't need a resume. We care about what you can do and what people say about you. Some of the questions below might seem odd, but they capture the culture of our organization pretty well. I've been using House of Sticks to produce quarterly internal corporate messaging videos for almost a year now. Although I had a vague request for the creative direction on the videos, the team absolutely nailed the energy and tone I was looking for. After going through the editing rounds on the first video, the second quarterly video required basically zero editing because the team picked up on my preferences and style and provided it in the initial version. House of Sticks helped us understand who we are and how we make disciples at Grace Bible Church. Our senior pastor said he has struggled with communicating our process for 15 years, and in the last 5 months we've been able to accomplish it. I recently worked with House of Sticks on a job in Dallas; I can't describe the level of professionalism and efficiency they attain on their shoots. The crew was extremely prepared and knew exactly what they wanted out of the production which made the days go as smoothly as possible.
