Learn more about what problems can be spotted with an eye exam, what's involved in a comprehensive exam, and special considerations for kids and contact lenses. Dry eye syndrome (DES) is a chronic condition that develops when your eyes do not produce and maintain enough tears to keep the eye's surface lubricated.
I am an independent doctor of optometry who chose to locate my practice at Wal-Mart, which is my landlord. I make no income from selling glasses or contacts, only from providing comprehensive exams and treating ocular disease. A. We provide a thorough exam with the most advanced diagnostic instruments to evaluate your vision needs and uncover any other ocular conditions that may go undetected, if not regularly monitored.
The cost of routine eye exams and prescription eyewear can be of real concern, especially for large families. In many cases, vision insurance can lower these annual expenses. A vision insurance policy is not the same as health insurance. Regular health insurance plans protect you against financial losses due to unexpected eye injuries or disease.
Learning about your eye health can be complicated - and might even seem overwhelming at first. To simplify things for our patients, we've created our Eye Health Library, a comprehensive library of vision-related information. We invite you to browse through our library to find information that will help you better understand how your vision works, common eye conditions, surgeries and how your vision changes as you age.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Bumped my appt. for someone else, could have called and let me know they were running super late, but chose not to. Then I was supposed to accommodate them to reschedule 4 days later, after driving an hour for appt. Yes, I was upset, but front desk lady and doctor could care less. I’ve been here 3 times and they run late every time
They did not have me wait 8 min... appt was 11:40. I was prompt and checked in At 11:30. I left at 12:05 when they said they had no idea when I’d be seen and suggest I make a new appt...so yes, my appt. was bumped. When I scheduled

Since I hadn't had my eyes checked in quite a few years, and since I am just a seasonal resident, I was unsure where to turn to get an exam, but decided to try Dr. Brandon Watson based on convenience to WalMart's optical department and their recommendation after a call. I could not have been more pleased with the choice and plan to see him annually when I am back in the area. Thorough, professional, honest and kind.

We moved to Alamosa from the Front Range less than a year ago. We very much enjoy living here. The biggest challenge has been lack of customer service and poor communication. That is not the case with Dr. Brandon Watson and his staff. Dr. Watson is a top notch professional being up to date on the latest medical information and technology. He was more than accommodating for myself and our two boys ages 10 and 11. We had incredible service and patient experience. His front desk support was equally strong and even had researched where I could get the best price on contacts!! I can't strongly enough
