Shasta, CA, a charming mountain community nestled at the base of one of America's most majestic mountains for which the town is named. Jon had the opportunity to apprentice in Carmel, CA with the late Orlando Ferriozzi, a world renowned master jeweler from Rome, Italy, who demanded perfection and taught the secrets of old style Italian goldsmith techniques.
Jon's skills continued to excel as he worked with artists around the world from Vietnam, Russia, Romania, Israel, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, and Turkey. To this day he says, "I continue to enjoy learning the never ending possibilities of designing and creating jewelry I can offer my clientele." Jon Thomas has designed and produced the original Mt. Shasta pendants since 1993. Each pendant features a unique view of Mt. Shasta and each original piece is hand carved by Jon before he uses the lost wax casting method to produce an always stunning one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. Creation of the pendants was inspired by Jon's love for the city of Mt.

I have loved Jon Thomas jewelry for years. We have visited every time we have been in Mt. Shasta. We have several pieces of Mt. Shasta jewelry. Everyone there is helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming. My boyfriend and I are getting married in December, I really love the Byzantine rings and found exactly what I wanted immediately. My boyfriend found one that compliments mine and both fit. We had three rings from three different jewlers that needed sizing down. The staff were incredibly helpful. They walked us through the process and what they could do to make the rings fit and look better. The end product was perfect. The rings all fit perfectly and one of the rings was cleaned and polished to a shine that I didn't think possible. The pricing was reasonable and well worth the investment.

First time in today at Jon Thomas Jewelry. Wonderful service and shown so many beautiful pieces of jewelry. There is a fabulous selection sure to please all different tastes, from custom work to vintage jewelry. And the original Mount Shasta pieces are really special. This lovely shop has been a part of downtown Mount Shasta for well over 20 years and I can see why. Really enjoyed my time there looking and trying on some of their fabulous inventory. Jon Thomas is not only an inspired, superlative artisan, he is also patient and attentive when assisting a customer in making the right choice while selecting a personal purchase or a special gift. I particularly love his rendering into gold a delicate depiction of Mt. Shasta in the form of an oval "charm" pendant in which a diamond star is set. What an exquisite reminder of the mountain!
