USA Inn
Conveniently located at the corner of Route 1 and Mile Road in Wells Beach, Maine, USA INN is a great home base from which to enjoy all the attractions and activities of the Southern Maine Walking on Wells Beach, Maine in Wells Maine coast. It was very clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and concerned about you.

They did explain to me that calling them directly would be a lower cost than booking through any of the hotel groups on line. We decided to stay an extra day and USA Inn was very accommodating and made sure we could stay in the same room. The ocean was only 1/2 mile down the road. Good place to stay.
Services
We are minutes from Ogunquit, Kennebunkport, York, Portland and Portsmouth. There are several beaches in Wells, and other beaches in the neighboring resort towns. Clean no frills and affordable. If your looking for a place to sleep this is it. We go to wells/Ogunquit to enjoy the beaches, restaurants and shopping. . We don't travel to hang out in our room or lounge at the motel. We look for a motel to provide us a clean safe place to sleep. The staff is very cordial and the room comfortable enough for us to get a good night sleep and get on with our vacation in the morning. The money we saved allowed us to dine kind of fancy! That's USA Inn. Oh yes NO minimum stay requirements.

TRAVELERS BEWARE!!! Place likes to charge $200 smoking fees to anyone who stays here, then won't answer calls and requests to speak with the manager (although looking at other reviews, he's as much a crook as they come). It smells like weed and cigarettes upon arrival. There's tape over the smoke detectors in the rooms and they use that as "proof" you smoked in the room. You don't have to believe me though, scroll through the other reviews on other pages about this hotel, it's their niche!!! I'll be pursuing a case with the BBB - STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

First thing's first. I understand there is a pandemic. It's a tough time for everybody for one reason or another. However, I don't feel that it has gotten desperate enough to steal from a returning guest.
Granted, it's been many years since I last stayed here. In the past everything has been fine. Simple and basic, but pretty much everything you need for a visit to beautiful Wells Maine.
I called around 9pm on a Friday night to make a reservation for myself ,my wife and our five year old son. I booked two nights. Unfortunately by morning a sudden scheduling conflict came up

We stayed there one night from our trip from NYC to Portland. The place is about 15 minute drive from Oqonquit where majority of the restaurants will be at. The rooms are clean and have all of the basic amenities. I didn't interact with the staff more than just saying hi and bye and they were fine. They also have the opportunity to do laundry if you're staying there for longer like we did. Motel has plenty of parking, the only complaint I have is that the beds are quite stiff.

Extremely rude desk staff when they found out I was with my two children and decided to charge an extra $20 per child with no explanation of what the fee was for....even though I had already booked a room w double beds. Out dated room, no pool, room smells like smoke. Much better hotels w pools located close by that are family friendly; I won't make the mistake of staying here again. Over priced, too far from the beach, limited parking. Front desk woman was miserable.

We arrived on a Friday for a total of 3 nights, they only had us down for half of that, as if we were going to stay somewhere else for a night. The gentleman at the desk had us show him every kind of confirmation we received but he did finally fix the problem and mistake that they made.

The beds are very firm. It was quite uncomfortable. And the shower had a drip that wouldn't stop. However the fridge was a good size and they had a microwave, they also allowed us to use a steamer one of the days as there were no irons in the rooms.

Something that really bugged me was they did not clean

Location is pretty good, right near Wells beach (about 1 mile walk - which isn't that bad) and near a few restaurants and stores (Horizons Breakfast, Congon's, Rite aid, Hanaford, etc.). Located right on Rt. 1, it's a straight drive to the downtown areas of Ogunquit and Wells.

Just a couple of down sides - 1. Housekeeping doesn't actually "make" your room, they only give you new towels; and 2. There is no pool, which kind of stinks.

If you're looking for basic accommodations and outdated decor you should stay at the USA Inn. Granted it was affordable given the location and peak season visit, I should have paid the extra to stay somewhere more comfortable for my family and I.

When making the reservation I didn't realize it was necessary to include my 3 year old son as a guest along with my husband and myself, and was subsequently scolded and charged an extra $15 per night when I checked in. They advised it was for the extra ware and tear on the room and extra towels we would receive, otherwise they couldn't

The USA Inn is a very nice hotel. It is great if you're vacationing in Maine. There are many stores and restaurants in the area that are in walking distance. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The only downside is that there is no pool, but besides that, it is a wonderful place to stay.

Horrible place! To name a few defects - room stinks like urine. Told management & they didn't care, offered us a can of stinky spray to mask the odor. Tub was as slippery as glass - asked for a bath mat & was told "no, we don't have any" btw, there was no grab rail either for those who are even slightly handicapped - it was a disaster waiting to happen. Went out & bought a rubber bath mat & Lysol. Throw pillow on the beds, stunk like dirty hair - ewwwe!!! Had 2 towels in the room - 2 for 2 people, sorry folks, need one for hair & one for body x 2 = 4. Blood

For the price - which is extremely reasonable, you can't get any better.

Clean, great location and friendly staff.

The mattresses are very firm, but I prefer that to an old saggy one.
The bathroom is small but clean and functional. Free wi-fi.

Close to Wells Beach, and of course lobster!

Will definitely return when I go back!

The room was clean. Has a microwave, refrigerator and hairdryer. The owners are hands on and very friendly. Bathroom very small with sink in the actual room which was better for two of us to do our thing. WYFI connection was not stable however I was there for the Ocean and not internet. I would recommend this motel!

Fantastic! $50 a night and super clean and comfy. Great location near the water and some great restaurants. We were happy to see them open when everyone else was closed and waiting for "the season" to open, which made no sense because the weather was perfect. What a pleasant place!

I booked a room here only to have them cancel it because it was a busy weekend. When I complained, they claimed it was a computer glitch caused by a "power surge". Power surges crash computers, they cause them to make inconvenient reservations. DO NOT TRUST online bookings with these operators. Go with someone reputable.

This place is great! Super close to the beach (1 mile) and lots of good food. The supermarket and drug stores are nearby, as well as McDonald's and gas stations. It is VERY convenient. That being said, it's not the most scenic location. The Inn is very close to Rt 1 which can be noisy. However, this didn't bother us because we were so happy to be near the beach and Mike's Clam Shack, not to mention Congdon's Donuts.

The room was very, very clean and the beds were super comfy and were obviously on the newer side. Nice flat-screen TV, good-sized fridge and microwave
