Attorney Carcagno is originally from Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan for her undergraduate studies where she majored in Spanish. It was through her studies in the intensive language program within the University (Residential College) and the time that spent studying abroad in Spain and Peru that she became fluent in Spanish.

A conditional permanent resident receives a Green Card that is valid for two years. In order to remove conditions on your permanent resident status, you must petition to remove the conditions within the 90-day period before your conditional green card expires. U.S. immigration law allows for certain aliens who are family members of U.S. citizens or U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents to apply for U.S. Lawful Permanent Residency. This is based on specific familial relationships. Note, that if you are the spouse or unmarried child of a U.S. citizen or parent of a U.S. citizen (who is 21 years old or older), you can apply for a Green Card as an immediate relative of a U.S. citizen.
