Underlying our practice is the Functional Medicine approach (link to functional medicine page). The focus of functional medicine is on patient-centered care and involves understanding the origins, prevention and treatment of complex chronic disease. Our treatment process is based upon an integrative, science based healthcare philosophy.
Dr. Douglas Vise lives in Lakewood Colorado with his family, since moving here 29 years ago. He graduated from Colorado State University (pre-med) and received his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Palmer college of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He completed his post-graduate studies in Acupuncture with the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture, earning a fellowship degree in Chiropractic clinical acupuncture.
I want to tell you my story in hopes that it will encourage you on your path to wholeness. My husband and I came to see Dr. Vise in January '05 for chiropractic work and to have our free health assessment. Little did we know how much more he would do for us. We thought we were in good health since we didn't have many symptoms showing up.
Dr. Vise has advanced certification for Whiplash Injury Biomechanics and Traumatology through The Spine Institute of San Diego. He is well versed in injury care with over 28 years of experience treating auto accident injuries. Auto insurance will often cover chiropractic, massage and physical therapy.
According to The Association of Chiropractic Colleges, Chiropractic is a health care discipline which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs and surgery. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health.
