The building that houses The Hackett Hotel was built in 1899 by Marietta oil man John H. Riley. The space above what is now The Galley was fully renovated and opened as The Hackett in 2012. Our chic boutique hotel includes five rooms plus a common area known as the Confluence. When you stay with us, you enjoy one of the most unique experiences in Ohio and the Mid-Ohio Valley.
The Hackett combines early 20th-century decor with modern conveniences. High ceilings, brick walls, and antique furnishings harken back to when the building was new. Today, we serve business and leisure travelers by offering Wi-Fi internet connections, fully updated bathrooms, a convenient food preparation area, and a prime location within walking distance of Marietta's business offices, banks, municipal buildings, shops and restaurants.

The exposed brick walls and ornate decor are only trumped by the food quality and dedicated service staff.

Unable to actually review hotel due to not being able to stay, let me share why. I booked through Expedia 4 months prior to stay in August 2021. When checking in was told they did not have my reservation and the room was booked. The manager did not seem to care, said they have had issues with Expedia(so why continue to use that platform???) After hours of driving and now having to scramble to find another hotel wasn’t even offered a free drink at the bar to relax a minute and figured out new plans. We ended up staying at the Lafayette and highly recommend them!!!

What a terrible thing to do to a Wedding Party... see below Travis, In viewing our hotel bookings at the Hackett next month, we have been overbooked. I see that you had four rooms booked on May 22nd. … Unfortunately, we only have one room available that evening. If you would like to keep the reservation for that one room, please let me know. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Shady as hell over selling rooms, when it was double confirmed on line and return phone call

Stayed here the last week of January 2020 for two nights. Nice place, steep stairs to third floor, no elevator. Not a big deal.
The reason this place sucks so bad is that is now the 6 of October and they just charged my CC again.
Thats the third time since January.
Not small amounts either.
Looks like I have to file another dispute with American Express.
Save yourself the headache of them billing you three times, so far up to NINE months later!!!!!
These bozos should not be allowed to operate a lemonade stand.
Utterly incompetant

I made my reservation in December of 2017. I paid $129. upfront and received an email that I would owe $169. when I got there for my 2 night stay. So when I got there 3 hours from home I was told that I owe $435. This was more than my budget for the entire weekend. I was never contacted in the previous 9 months that the rates changed to 3x the amount. I would of cancelled but was told there is a 72 hour cancellation policy and would be charged even if I didn't stay. This is completely unacceptable. I used to love coming to Marietta but now I doubt I'll be back and be sure that I tell

Extremely disappointed. We were looking forward to our stay over the Sternwheel Weekend here but when we arrived from our 2 hour drive the price of our room was doubled. We booked a room over the phone with our credit card for a certain price and had confirmation email. At check in the manager told us we would have to pay the additional double amount or cancel. All other hotels are booked for the weekend. We won’t ever be looking to stay or eat here in the future.

This historic hotel was my favorite hotel stay ever. The room was huge, nicely appointed and very clean. High ceilings and comfortable furnishings made it a nice place to hang out, read, and sip on a cocktail from the bar downstairs. The Galley restaurant downstairs was fabulous, too. Great people work here and made it a great stay.

I stayed at the Hackett for my wedding. The Riley room was absolutely gorgeous to get ready in. There was a wonderful housekeeper that came up, and made sure I had everything I needed. She really went out of her way to make my day special. People like her are hard to find. I only wish I asked her her name!

It's a nice clean place, big rooms and well decorated. We stayed in the Barker room. You have to climb two really step flights stairs to get to rooms and no refrigerator in the room ( they do have a refrigerator in a common room. The exhaust vent from the kitchen was loud in the evening but not at night. The room and hall was kinda cold but not to bad. It was $123 a night. All and all way better then most places even with what I've said. The restaurant closes at 9pm. We will stay here again.

We stayed on a Wednesday night for our anniversary and had an amazing time. The suite was way beyond any expectation and the staff was phenomenal. Daniel McGrew was there to help with any concerns and went above and beyond and it was much appreciated. Highly recommended for locals that just want a nice little getaway and definitely for anyone visiting Marietta.

The Hackett Hotel is really a beautiful building. The room we stayed in was excellent! The stairs were an issue though. No elevator, so beware if you are out of shape or have a physical limitation. The noise level from the music hall next door was crazy! You should definitely pack earplugs! We tried to eat dinner downstairs at one of the… outside tables, but that didn't happen! We were seated, but were never checked on again. No drink orders were taken, no waiter or waitress ever came. We finally left after waiting for about 15 minutes.

If you are looking for a different hotel experience, this is a place to check out. The check in process starts at the bar in the Galley Restaurant. You check in there and they give you your key. We stayed in the Isaac Williams Room and it was very nice. Furnishings are a mix of old and new and the bed was very comfortable. The Common Room is a nice concept. They had chocolate milk, milk, orange juice and water in the refrigerator. Also available were pop tarts,
a variety of cereals and a one cup coffee maker.
We ate at The Galley (the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel). We had dinner

So, if you had told me before I stayed at this hotel that I would give it 5 stars, I wouldn't have believed you. However, this provided an absolutely amazing experience for a recent bachelorette party.
One of my dearest friends had her bachelorette here as she grew up in the area, and her sister (a total rockstar) had the foresight to book all of the rooms at the Hackett for our party. We stayed 2 girls to a room, and there were 5 rooms in all. There is a great common space where we did the bachelorette games...and such.
The space was stocked with snacks, coffee, water, juice, milk, etc

This facility is a nice change from the cookie cutter hotel/motel you find in any city across America.
Built in 1899 and upgraded this year, it has all of the amenities you could want. Flat screen TV, spacious bathroom, well appointed room with lots of history attached.
When you get upstairs, you enter a common area with a fully stocked refrigerator, snacks and even a Keurig coffee maker.
For a change of pace, do yourself a favor and stay here if you are in the area.
If you crave a cocktail or something to eat, the Galley Restaurant is conveniently located downstairs.

This small, historic botique hotel is one of the better ones I have stayed at. The Hildredth Room was very comfortable and included a sitting area with sofa, coffe table, and armchairs. The bathroom was very nice. The common area was well stocked with soda, water, muffins, fresh fruit, and other snacks. It was nice to park my car and just walk to shops, restaurants...etc. This was an excellent lodging option at a reasonable price.
