Dr. Melvin Kum is a native of Los Angeles, and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1972. He attended college at Cal State L.A. for two years and finished his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California (USC) with a B.A. in Psychology (1977) and a B.S. in Biology (1980).
He attended Dental School at Oral Roberts University School of Dentistry in Tulsa, OK. and graduated in 1983 with a D.M.D. degree (Doctor of Dental Medicine).He had worked in various dental offices for a few years and then settled in his own private practice in Burbank in 1985. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Academy of General Dentists (AGD), and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).

Bethany Kum, DDS, RDH grew up in local South Pasadena, attending the local schools and graduated from So. Pasadena High School. She attended U.C. Riverside and U.C. Irvine, focusing on Biology. She was accepted to the University of Southern California Dental Hygiene program, and received her B.S. / RDH degree.

I had a crown put on and after a year of endless adjustments because it kept falling off he ground a hole in the crown. He informed me that he would have to order a new crown and that I would be the one paying for it. Up until that point I thought he was a great dentist. You never know how good your dentist is until they are challenged with a real problem. I had no interest in finding a new dentist but if I have to pay for a new crown it certainly isn't going to be with him.
