My first camera was a Kodak Brownie Flash 20 (with flashbulbs that sizzled after they popped), which I got on my 9th birthday. I still remember how those smelled and how it felt to roll the film onto the long spool. During college, I built a darkroom where I developed black-and-white images. For years, I used a Minolta X-700 (35 mm) camera before moving over to digital (and donating the film camera to a high school art department).

I first worked with Katherine in June of 2020 when she spent some time at my fire station taking pictures of me and my fellow firefighters so that we could frame some photos for the firehouse. I was so impressed with her work that we hired her for some family portraits in July of 2020.
Katherine walked us through the entire process and let us know what would make for the best photo's. She had never been to the fire station previously but she worked very diligently figuring out what would make the best still photo's & also "action shots". She had us move around some of the fire engine's and trucks
